For 2022 F-150 Owners Trailer Status Display
For 2022 F-150 Owners - Trailer Status Display
First time hooking up my trailer to my new 2022 Platinum. I THINK that on my 2019, when I stepped on the brake pedal, even when stopped, I could hear my disk brake pump actuate. Also, I THINK, there was a screen that displayed amount of current being sent when the brakes were activated. I went to the 2022 Trailer Status screen which among other things shows current gain setting. Also there is a 6 segment bar that I thought would show the amount of current being sent to the brakes. Today, as part of my pre-departure test, I was not able to get the pump to actuate by stepping on the brake pedal. I could hear the pump actuate by using the manual mode (squeezing the tabs on the controller). Brake lights do light up when the pedal is pushed. I THINK I have filled in all of the towing setup screens and when I plug in the trailer, a screen does come up asking to select a trailer....
Am I missing something? Does the current bar not display with electric/hydraulic brakes? On a 40 mile drive of mixed freeway and surface street travel, I never saw the bar show anything. It does seem like the trailer brakes are working while driving - I'm not experiencing excessively long stopping distances. I had my dealer check to see if my truck needs the recently announced recall and was told I'm already good. Truck was built first week of March just as the recall was announced, so it is reasonable to think Ford used the updated program that is installed for the recall.
