Dodge Durango 8cyl as a two vehicle?

I'm closing in on a 2015 Dodge Durango to replace my Tacoma. I'm looking for any comments from people who've used a Durango 8cyl Hemi as a tow vehicle. If you've considered one and didn't buy it, I guess that might be helpful, too, but I'm primarily interested in comments from people who have had them and used them, whether they've switched off to something else. My trailer is a 22 Bambi (god, I hate that name!), and we carry two big people and two big dogs along for the ride.

As to the rest, set it up on the scale.

We have a 2014 Durango with the 5.7 L Hemi and tow either our 1979 23' Safari or 1954 29' Liner. The Durango is fantastic, plenty of power and the transmission works great. We are very happy and especially like the three rows of seats. Same as the Jeep Grand Cherokee but slightly larger.

We considered the Durango. Really liked it. We were looking at the V6. Ended up looking elsewhere because my wife can’t see around the seats when checking blind spot. (She’s tiny). Actually visibility issues eliminated a lot of vehicles. It wasn’t until we looked at Honda that she finally said “yes! I can see” so we bought the Ridgeline to tow our 27FB Eddie Bauer. We’ve been on the road for 5 months and over 10,000 miles since November. Ontario to Arizona, Utah, California. It’s been a beauty. I wouldn’t have any concerns swapping for the Durango but for the visiting challenges my wife has with it. As for the 8 cylinder, it’ll burn more gas than the 6, marginally when towing and significantly when not, but otherwise should be just fine.

I tow my 25' with a 2012 Durango Hemi. Very happy with it, I'd do it again.

I should have mentioned that I took my rig to the scales and everything was in limits. Not much leeway, but within limits. That was a trailer packed and filled to go, two people, two dogs, a bicycle and a kayak in the Durango. My trailer weighs 6600 packed and filled.
