CAT Scale Results

Hoping for some experts to help interpret these scale numbers.
Tow vehicle: 2022 Ram 3500 Bighorn Mega Cab w/ Cummins diesel.
Trailer: 2022 Flying Cloud 25’ FBT.
Hitch: Blue Ox Sway Pro w/ 1000 lb bars.

I went on the scale during a trip with our truck and trailer loaded with all of our gear, propane, and family members after fueling up. The fresh and black tank were each at 20% and grey tank at zero. Then, I drove off the scale, parked the trailer and drove back on with just the truck this time for a reweigh.
I subtracted the sum of the truck axles when weighing the truck alone from the sum of the truck axles when hitched to the trailer to calculate a tongue weight of 1,080 lbs.
Did I do this right? Do I need to weigh hitched up without the weight distribution bars to find out true tongue weight? Does it really matter? 1080# is nearly 15% of the max gross weight of the trailer.
On a side note, I weighed the tongue using the bathroom scale method at home and it was surprisingly close at 1,028 lbs (that time the trailer was not loaded with all the clothes, etc).

thanks for sharing - looks about right

Others will give more specific feedback, but it generally looks right to me. With the heavy diesel up front I don't think you need to worry about returning any weight to the drive axle.

Looks good to me. You do not really need to know the tongue weight. It is probably close to the numbers you have for it. If it drives good I think you are all set.

Looks good. The only additional information would be a 3rd pass on the scale with everything (similar to the second set of weights) but with the WD hitch disconnected and not moving any weight so you can see how much, if any, weight is being moved back to the front axle by comparing the 2nd pass with the new data.

Amazing, I was just going to post a very similar set of numbers and questions.

2022 F250 diesel pulling a 2022 FC 25 FBT.

Hooking the trailer up adds approximately 1200 pounds to the rear axle, and removes 200 pounds from the front axle.

I would have thought that the WDH, when properly adjusted, would add — not subtract — weight on the front axle.

Is that not correct?

The WD will transfer weight to the front axle. "Properly adjusted" is another consideration. Maybe 200 lbs off the front axle when hitched is properly adjusted. Maybe it is not. On a big pickup I bet that is just fine.

You have a near 50-50% weight sharing between front and rear axles. Perfect IMO. I wouldn't touch a thing.
My results w/o a WDH.

Thanks for the feedback. I stopped at the scale at the beginning of a spring break trip from Washington to California and I was actually surprised at how evenly the weight was distributed between the two truck axles. This was my first long distance trip with my trailer. I got back home today and wanted to say that it was rock steady and I have built a lot of confidence with this set up after driving it 1,000 miles this week.

Looks perfect. Both truck and trailer are parallel to the ground.
