Best Tires?

What are the best tires for a 3/4 ton Chevy towing a 27FB. Had BFGs slip today on slick pavement, so shopping for new.

Slick pavement? ice needs studs. Wet needs soft rubber and a tread pattern that is effective in routing the water away from the traction blocks.

Then there is load capacity, cost, life, and reliability. Then there is the balance between wet and dry conditions.

The best is the tire that will only last until you can replace it. That is the way it is with soft compound tires. Think NASCAR tire changes. I suspect rather, you are looking for the safest and most cost effective tire. We keep buying Michelins, but you may like those Goodyears!

I run Firestone trans force on trailor and my 3/4 chev duramax. Avg 50 to 60,000 on the truck 17 years with no flat. Just switched to them when I went to 16's on the a/s.its a 90 32 excella. 10,000 miles on the a/s also no trouble.

BFGs are good tires. Had them in my Raptor. Under the right conditions any tire can slip.

I have the Transforce on my truck and actually really like them.

Last month I changed my original Goodyear Wranglers that came with the truck (2013 Chevy 2500) to Michelins. I'm sure partly because they're new and partly psychological - but the ride seems much smoother, more connected to the road and quieter than with the Wranglers.

My 27FB also has Michelins (15", not 16").

I'm happy with all my sneakers 😀

I just ordered a set of Michelin's for my bicycle. Always wanted to try them since they are supposed to be long lasting and smooth riding, and they were on sale for 50% off. Should help me feel more comfortable on the fast downhill rides next month when we are camping in TN.

I ran the BFG long mile on a pickup and they did get slippery when it was wet. I hated that set of tires and replaced them when they were about half worn out. I run Michelin on my TV now. I have a set of Faulken tires on the other truck and they are excellent. I think the Faulken have better traction and ride than the Michelin. Both have A traction and temperature ratings.
