Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the forum, and if this is not the right place for my post, please admin advise and move.
I am trying to get my dad's
1962? Bambi back to Illinois from Utah.
My first option was to rent a U-Haul 24' truck, and tow the Bambi behind.
But, the trailer has not been used in 20 years, and I am having tail light issues.
One side works, but the other...someone sealed the red housing with heavy silicone bead, and I had a hell of a time cutting and removing it. I guess that was supposed to keep the moisture out? Inside was a totally corroded area.
I was able to get the small bulb out, but the main one broke off, leaving the base in the socket. I took both bulbs to the trailer store, and he said he had nothing for the small one, but did have the large one. I plan to try and remove the bulb housing from the socket, clean with emery cloth, and see if it works.
I have had the axle bearings and seals redone, and new tires.
Another option to move it and my belongings is to hire a tractor trailer with the Bambi inside. He wants to know the length from the ball joint to the bumper, and the width. Can anyone supply that information?
Thanks,
Lyndon in Utah
