Airstream-TV Match advice

Friends,

After much looking we are ready to purchase our third Airstream after an 08 Basecamp and a 10 Bambi. We recently purchased our new family TV (16 Expedition EL with tow package and load leveling suspension). Ideally I would have liked a diesel truck, but with three kids, we needed an SUV and we got a great deal on the Expy.

My question is will this work with a 2016 Flying Cloud 28? The wife really likes this floorplan and thinks it will suit us well into the future as the kids grow. Other options would be a 25 or 27FB. Would really like to know if anyone has experience with these setups using the 15-16 Expy's 3.5L EB engine.

Thanks in advance!

The main drawback to SUVs is the payload. Check to see what yours is, then start subtracting all you will want inside the SUV PLUS take off the tongue weight! Usually the tongue weight that is listed for Airstream trailers is lower than what it will be in the real world. My listed tongue weight is 870 lbs. and it is actually between 1,000 and 1,100 lbs.

Basically the Expedition is just an F150 with no bed. With the correct hitch setup you should have no problem hauling any Airstream made.

And improved suspension and handling.

Agree it should do fine, with a proper hitch and attention to set up.
