7 or 9 hole receiver hitch for Swaypro with F150?

Hi All,
Who has a Ford F150 that measures 18” at center of receiver hitch and tows a 25’ Flying Cloud with a Blue Ox Swaypro BXW1000? …Or has knowledge to help with this setup.
Were you able to get hooked up/level using the standard 7 hole receiver or did you need to special order the 9 hole receiver?
Also, were there any other part issues you encountered? I plan to use the clamp on latches.
Info that I have found: Looking at the Swaypro owner’s manual (3/8/16) it appears that the 7 hole receiver has a 1.97” rise at its lowest setting (page 9 of 10), though the distributers (ex. Etrailer, Hitch.com) advertise it has having up to a 2’ drop. (??) It is my understanding that hitch ball height for most late model AS’s should be 17.75”.
I own a 2017 F150 4x2 King Ranch with max trailer tow pkg and should be getting a 2018 Flying Cloud 25FB in the next 2wks and would appreciate the assistance.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Campingpop, you should be fine with the standard seven hole Blue Ox receiver. My Titan XD 4x4's hitch pin is 21" above the pavement and the standard seven hole receiver at its lowest setting makes my Airstream level. Don't fall for that 17.75" spec as I did. I purchased the 11 hole Blue Ox receiver so I could get down to 18.75" and now its sitting in my garage collecting dust. Here are my posts documenting the setup of my Blue Ox on my Titan XD with pictures and weight scale tickets for a 2017 FC25FB. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f42/...es-166881.html

If you need an 11 hole Blue Ox receiver, I've got one for you in Apollo Beach, FL.
But you will not need it.

P.S. Welcome to the forum and have fun with your new Airstream!

After reading AirMiles post and viewing his pictures, I tend to agree with him, you will probably be fine.

....But seeing how I have just purchased my 40lb 9 hole shank, I thought I would post some info for others that might have the same question, but for a different model truck.

I have a Ram 2500 with air suspension, the center of the hitch is a little over 21". The trailer is a 27' Flying Cloud. The 7 hole shank was not enough to make the trailer level, (which didn't stop me from towing the trailer home some 1200 miles.)

I have not tried the 9 hole shank yet but in 2 weeks I will know if dropping it the additional inch or two will make it look correct. Or if I too will have a dust collector due to the fact that the truck and trailer was empty on the ride home, and not yet outfitted for travel.

P.S. :Note to Blue Ox, I truly would have paid more for a 9 hole drop hitch that went on a diet and lost at least 10 pounds. I get it, by not performing any milling it was far cheaper to manufacture; that shank is overkill. What does the 11 hole one weigh 55 pounds? (ok rant over)

Smile Thank you AirMiles and J-Dog.

Thank you AirMiles and J-Dog. I'll go for the standard 7 Hole.

An addendum to my previous post; I meant to write distributers advertise it as having about a 2" drop, (not 2' drop).
Good Day to All.

You would need a 7 hole receiver and I have one for you in Anna Maria.
I had to get a 9 hole receiver for our new F-250 so I have no use for it.
Message me if you want it.

7 or 9 hole receiver hitch for Swaypro with F150?

I recently set up a 2017 Ford F-150 XLT 4X with 20" tires with the Blue Ox Sway Pro with my Safari 22' that is 18" level tongue. Tongue weight on the trailer is 630lbs loaded. No problem setting it up level using the standard 7 hole receiver. Happy I did not need the 9 hole as I had used the 7 hole receiver on a different truck with less lift than the new truck & the receiver would bottom out from time to time - example when backing over the lip of the slightly uphill sloped driveway & the hitch was on the truck (no trailer) or going over a speed bump a bit to fast with trailer attached. No such issues with the F150 set up with the 7 hole pin.
