Hello.
I have the Ford Onboard Scales and Smart Hitch feature. I'm still learning how to use it more efficiently. It seems the best way is to use the Ford app on your phone as you are putting on the hitch. As to accuracy, from Motor Trends Article:
https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/f...-hitch-review/
"Note that this method is not accurate to the ounce or pound; rather, the truck's VIN-specific predetermined payload capacity is programmed at the factory and all loads are expressed as estimated amounts under or over that amount."
Here are some screen shots of my testing yesterday. I get the Payload feature, but not so much with the Smart Hitch..especially when it asks for you to distribute more weight.
Payload empty (my payload is 1843 lbs) and then 2 pictures after I lower the hitch. The payload shows how much more room I have left, and the scale version shows the hitch weight. But even as estimates, they don't quite square with each other. I must be doing something wrong.
Any other users out there who can share some tips?
