2008 Land Cruiser

First post - great forum.... Thanks in advance for any help

I am heading up to the dealer next week and this site has really helped increase my knowledge ...

While I do tow a 4k lb boat - I am really a novice when it comes to towing travel trailers...

If you were looking for a Flying Cloud 25FB (or similar) how would you set up my truck..... Money no object - so far..

Hensley Sway Bars,,, Brake Controls ?, Airbags ?

Anything else...

Here are the specs for the Land Cruiser

TOWING AND VEHICLE MASS (lbs.)

Curb Weight 5,690

GVWR 7,275

Payload 1,585

Maximum Trailer Weight 8,500

Maximum Tongue Weight 850

Gross Combined Weight Rating 15,775

Thanks so much guys

Hello,

I would contact Andy Thompson at can am rv in Ontario Canada. He is the ultimate guru in towing. They have been in he business for over 40 yrs.

I drive a '12 sequoia which has the same 5.7l I force engine.

It's absolutely awesome. I used to own gmc with 6.0 l vortec, however, toyota engine and tranny are so much smoother and better.

I don't own an airstream, however will be purchasing one in near future. I tow a 27' travel trailer and just returned from 2600 km trip through Banff and BC.

I averaged 13mpg real time pulling, about 6500-7000lbs. Power was awesome, tranny was awesome.

If money no object, go with Hensley and pull whatever you like.

Have a great day,

Mike

I'll be interested in what you find. We have a 2009 LC and would love to get an airstream in the next few years. Really like the 25 flying cloud as well.

So far my research shows the LC limits with the 23 model .... Tongue weight and trailer weights are a bit limited on the LC ....

I am sure they can pull more - but to be on the safe side want to keep the trailer at under 7k lbs fully loaded ...

Maybe other owners will chime in
