Slides for how long?

Is 2003 the first year Safari's have had slides? If not - what was the first time?

Thanks!

2003 is the first year for the Safari slide out which was produced in the 28' length.

Jack -

Thanks! More generally, do you know how long slides have been offered in other models?

slides

I believe 2000 or 2001 the first slide was available in the 34. Shortly there after a slide became available in the 30.

I was talking to my dealer about this on Saturday. 2001 was the first full production year although there were some units produced during the 2000 model year.

According to the dealer and I have heard this from others, the early units did have some problems with components and water leakage. I was at Jackson Center in July 2001 where a person was having his 2001 retrofitted with the enhancements that were present in the 2002 produced units.

So would it be safe to say, for the purpose of looking for a used trailer that slides on safaris are brand new, and slides on classics are 2-3 years old? (We're trying to stay 31' or less.)
