2002 27' Safari long term owners, are you happy?

We have a 1970 25' Caravanner which we have gutted to reconfigure to better suit our family. We're reworking the rear bath to a split, mid bath, building bunk beds across the back, and creating a dinette across the front similar to the newer 25' models. It's a big job as we are removing the interior walls to replace the wiring and insulation, and removing the floor to clean and repair the running gear as needed. We expect this will take at least a year to complete.

In the meantime we've run across a 2002, 27' Safari with a rear queen bed that we think we can make minimal revisions to and use while we work on the 1970. Ultimately we we sell the 2002 and keep the 1970.

Have those of you who've owned an early 2000's Airstream been satisfied with the quality of the unit?

Thanks! Amy

We have a 2001 - 30' Classic with the rear queen. This is our 3rd. summer and have been very satisfied with things. Bought from a friend that got it new and kept it stored underground in a cave in Missouri. No kids, non-smokers and no pets so it's had an easy life. We travel a lot and put lots of miles on and all's well. Go for it and ENJOY

We have a 2002 25' w/ a rear queen bed that we bought new. Admittedly, this is our first RV. We've had no problems w/ it that weren't caused by our being newbies or by having to run over a 'gator' on the interstate. We're planning to get a 27' AS and sell our 2002 next spring.

Love ours, no complaints. We have twin instead of Queen, however. The Little Woman and I are both too tall for the queen. Best of luck in restoration efforts.
