Where is everyone?

Hi, my family and i are the proud owners of our renovated 1959 24' trade wind. We've been on the road traveling in it for the last three weeks taking it through panama city, biloxi, mobile, new Orleans, little rock, st louis, and kansas city. While enroute we meep our eyes peeled for fellow air-streamers, especially vintage ones, either on the road or at the campgrounds. We are wondering where everyone is? To date in our travels weve driven by 11 vintage airstreams parked along the roadside in various states of repair, we've driven by only one vintage bambi near lake of the ozarks, we waved but were just stared at. Finally, we've gotten to meet three nice owners/couples (2 new and 1 70's model) of airstreams while at campgrounds. Our big question is "where are all the 50s and 60s vintage owners?" We are beginning to feel like they went the way of the unicorns and are shrouded in mystery. Where are you?

Hello from Michigan - We don't see many vintage streams on the road either. We have seen lots at various Rallies. Try some of the Airstream rallies in your area. Another good place to meet other vintage TT is at a Tin Can Tourist Rally. They have all kinds of vintage trailers. The last one we attended had over a dozen vintage AS's. If you ever make it up to Michigan look us up. Got plenty of room for an AS to park overnight. Happy travels

I suspect that the largest concentration of Vintage Airstreams may be headed to the WBCCI International Rally in Huron, South Dakota. The VAC (Vintage Airstream Club) is set to parade onto the rally grounds on June 27 if my notes are correct. There are usually about 50 Vintage Airstreams in the parade.
