Searched for 3.5 years for our A/S from the West coast to the East coast and everywhere in between. Everytime I would call home from a business trip back east, my wife would ask "Did you find one yet? I can be there in three days with the truck to pull her home!" We finaly found our A/S through the Forum's Classified Adds about a 10-15 miles north of us in Malibu. Took one look and fell in love! We finalized the deal on the spot and took her to her home.

I bought ours on Air classifieds! Only drove 1200 miles one way to get her. miles of smiles. I wouldn't have it any other way.

We found our Classic at Woodland RV right before the Lansing International. We think we lucked out.

Found my Quiksilver Bambi on ebay. I had been looking for almost 2 years. Turned out to be less than a mile from my home!

We found our Argosy on Craigs list in Baltimore. Wasn't looking for an Airstream but fell in love with it.
She is all original, though we plan on updating a few things. We have had her 11 months and taken her to Georgia twice. Can't wait until the next trip.

Found ours on EBay, bought it from Best Preowned RV in Houston. Delivery to Michigan was included in the sales price.

Marilyn Pyle was wonderful to deal with.

Midwest purchase

I purchased my airstream in MO. Although I had found one that I really liked in FL. and another in TX. both were already sold when I called. When I called about the one that I purchased and found it was still available, I started on the 300 mile journey right away. I paid ernest money that night and returned the following day to take it home. I love my 34 ft. '95 Excella 1000. It was a great purchase. After towing it over 5200 miles and spending several weeks in it, I would not take my money back for it. It is now part of the family. I want to thank Airstream Forum for helping me find my dream home.

I found both of mine on Craiglist. I am still able to find some good deals but I need to behave myself because I don't need another one.

We got ours at the Reading RV show from DJ RV (no longer a AS dealer).

Marketing is a great thing....

The brochure said...."There is no time like the present" So we took the leap.

25 years of camping -- back packing, tent, Motorhome, and a couple of trailers.... finally we upgraded to an Airstream. Our Safari has been great. We have all over the Eastern US and Canada.

We got an incredible deal buying our baby at the RV show
-- We bout it new, but as a left over model -- some $20,000+ less than a comparable model today (ours is 4 years old).

We bought new a 2008 in late 2007 from a dealer in Denver, a dealer I would have not gone to if I knew then what I learned later. The salesman at the other Colorado dealer lied to us and then went to answer the phone and never came back. If there is a next time, and we want a new one, we'll go out of state.

Hi from GA. . . Found our 05 Safari at Oasis RV in Tucson, Az. Flew out, looked at it, bought it and came back with my truck 4 weeks later and drove her 1744 miles home. Excellent experience with the gang at Oasis which is now just a service center with some consignment AS's on hand. I would recommend them to all. Previously I bought my Scotty MH in Santa Fe off of E-Bay. Never seem to find what I'm looking for around here. Regards, Craig

Found our 2008 Safari in July on EBay after looking for a year. We happened to be passing through New Jersey that week so we made an appointment to see her. We bid and had the high bid at the conclusion of the auction but didn't meet the reserve. I talked to the owner on the phone. After two days we agreed on a price. He corrected a couple of small issues. We picked her up in early August and have been delighted. Buying "lightly used" saved quite a bit.

After asking a lot questions and getting great answers from folks on this Forum we decided to buy new. We bought it from Colonial in NJ. My wife and I enjoyed dealing with both Patrick and Lauren. They are very professional.

Where did you buy your A/S?

My 1964 Overlander found me through the Northwest Illinois Trader magazine. It had been advertised for two months in early 1995, and I finally decided to go look at it even though it was 10 years older than what I wanted at the time. It was about a 300 mile drive from my home near Platteville, Wisconsin to its location near Mendota, Illinois. For its age, it was in very good condition . . . but there was something special that seemed to call out to me and within two hours I had placed a 10% deposit on the coach to hold it until I could pick it up the next weekend. I learned a few months later that it was actually the coach that I remembered from childhood . . . friends of the family had purchased it new and invited me on my first camping trip in the trailer when I was 5 years old and the trailer was brand new. I had lost track of the trailer in 1980 when our friends sold it and retired from Airstreaming.

My 1978 Argosy Minuet found me in a rather round-about fashion. I first saw the coach at the WBCCI International Rally in Sioux Falls, SD. At that point, I had never seen nor heard of an Argosy Minuet. I was near the bull pen when the Minuet arrived and immediately became intrigued by the coach as the original owner filled me in on some of the details of the Argosy Minuet. During the run of the rally, I became well acquainted with the owner and asked that he let me know if he should decide to sell the coach. In 2003, I received an e-mail that he had decided to sell and was listing the coach on the Vintage Airstream Club Classifieds. I immediately read the ad and made an initial offer. I was traveling to Southern Indiana to bring the coach home within 72 hours.

Purchase ours sight unseen off CL after looking two days! Contacted a Northern California third party inspector. Inspector must have liability insurance and supplies a written evaluation for a fee of $375.00. Picked it up a week later. Only had minor issue's that were over looked at observation. I used the 25% rule. Which states you will spend an additional 25% on any used vehicle purchased to bring it up to your liking. Been buying all my cars and trucks that way for years.
