What do you call your AS?
OK so I am really new to these forums but did a search and did not find any results in this area. My DH and I will get our first "Baby" (67 Overlander) on Friday. I really would like to find an appropriate name for her but my creative juices have not been flowing to well lately. One that keeps popping into mind is "The Silver Twinkie" since this is what I always thought of when seeing one as a child. It seems so long but calling her the TSP just doesn't sound right eiter, but it may stick?!
Sooooo......my question to all of you out there........What do you call your Airstream? Does yours have a name? I am curious to see your answers!
I will add ours later when we decide on a keeper!

Ours is Gypsy and our red truck is Gypsy Rose, Rosie for short. I think you'll find a very entertaining thread, a LOOOOOng thread, somewhere in the archives celebrating lots of forum Airstream names. We hope you have many happy traveling miles and enjoy lots of campfires evenings with your "baby!" ~G

As far as the 67, I happened to see it parked in front of a home about 2 towns away from its original home about a week after it was sold. My best friend is a Rural Route Carrier and that home happens to be on her route. She got me the address and after reverse directory she verified the names of the residents. I kept the phone number for a long time and after our other deal went sour, I got the urge to just call and see if they were interested in selling it. I lucked out cuz they really didn't need it and only bought it for a family reunion. How would it be to have the $ to just fork out for a tt for a family reunion? Anyway I am so very excited! My kids ~DD 3.5 and DS 7.25 don't remember looking at is originally so I hope they are happy when it gets here. Thanks for the imput and good luck on your name!

Karebere, welcome to AirForums! Here's a link that you might find to fun read. It's a thread about names people have given their Airstreams. This thread was active earlier this year. Another thread is out there but it goes back to 2003. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f232...s-31891-2.html
Our 1974 Airstream Ambassador is "Emma" as in the 1960's British television series, "The Avengers" with the characters "Emma" Peel and John Steed. Our tow vehicle is "Steed."
Have fun thinking of names -- and deciding on the best fit!

AS name
Well, mine has been Lucy since day one. I have the 2003 International CCD, the interior decorator Christopher Deem called his design Kalidoscope So of course my brain goes straight to the Lyrics from Lucy in the sky with Diamonds. "girl with kalidoscope eyes" I happen to hear it on my first venture out with "Lucy" I was toodling down the road and it stuck.
Great question!

Fortunately it's just me and my two dogs. We're very comfy.

Cameron~ Your babies are beautiful! I know the cozy. I have a 22' and 3 dogs, one Great Dane, one lab & a shiba Inu. Bed time always interesting. And you probably know who gets the least amount of room in the bed!

Both our trailers, the 1974 Trade Wind and the 1961 Bambi, are named "Sweetpea".
Murray's childhood pet, a little terrier mix, was named Sweetpea. He loved her and I love the name.

Alice, my wife named it after "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland".
Here's a thread we started on Airstream names.

Meet the Aluminotti
Hubby and I are avid book readers. He's always "mining" (as he puts it) one or two books at a time and I'm usually reading some spy or romance smut one after the other...
One day on the job at the plant the name became apparent to Hank. Hank and the guys were talking about the Catholic Church, the Knights Templar, and all that fun stuff, and the name hit him like a ton of bricks. Let's see if I can follow his train of thought (a dangerous thing!):
- Airstreams are made from Aluminum.
- Hubby and I are big book readers- both loved the DaVinci Code and related books
- Hubby is a HUGE history buff...
- Hubby is Roman Catholic (no, not a roaming Catholic...LOL!)
- Interestingly enough my ancestors on Mom's side had some "issues" with the Knights Templar back in their day and held a few captive in their castle.
- Plus we wanted something unique...
So Aluminotti it is!!!!!!! It's kinda tongue-in-cheek, but we'll take it!
/Lois
