Vote on lost key return service
Vote on the poll regarding WBCCI member interest in a lost key return service. I will forward results to WBCCI if there is support for the service.

original message regarding key return
Posted on June 8th to "Airstream Recreational Association" thread....
My 66 Tradewind keys are on a keychain for the Airstream Recreational Association. This came from the previous owner.
One side has a membership # and note saying to drop in mail if found. The other side has a California address and says return postage guaranteed. I presume this association no longer exists because I haven't heard of it before.
This would be a valuable service, perhaps WBCCI would adopt it as a member benefit. More value for members. A keytag with WBCCI member would be required and some postage for lost key return.
Looking for feedback and I will forward the suggestion to WBCCI if there is interest. I'll try setting up a poll to gauge interest.

Returned key service
You might check with the postal service on the cost to mail a set of keys. I travelled and stayed in a motels a lot about 20 years ago. The place I stayed said the cost got to be so high that it was cheaper to rekey a door than pay the postage. About $10 back then.
Major hotels chains just reprogram the doors with the plastic slide keys.
Nice idea however an increase in dues might be the result.

Postage cost
Good point about the postage cost. To me it would be worth additional cost. I have been trying to get duplicate keys cut for my 66 TradeWind lately and have not been able to find blanks yet. The thought of losing my only set id a big concern.
Even if cost is $25 it could be spread over all members enjoying the "insurance" against key loss. If one in a hundred keys are lost per year it would work out to .25/ member

Considering the average age of WBCCI members I guess it might be a good idea, but considering the DATE of the original thread there seems to be little interest.
Now I would be interested in a lost short term memory return service.

I love watching these old threads rise again!
It means someone is using the searching features or really digging in deep and exploring the site and that there is still interest in the topic!

I put a list of "lost key return services" on a website. Feel free to check it out to find a service that fits your needs! I do update it every now and then so check back at a later date too.

iFound Service
I have been reading the forums for awhile and noticed this post. Thanks a million for putting this list together! I have been using this service for around 6 months:
iFound
When you lose something and someone finds it, the person finding it calls the number on the ifound tag and they actually just get connected to you. I had left my laptop in the airport security in Newark and they called in and the system automatically connects to you at 3 phone numbers you program in.
(You had a link to the same company under "Keyfinder" but it does not work)

Ancient thread, but since nobody mentioned this from the original post...
Do you REALLY want a key fob on the keys to your trailer with a number on it matching that big red set of numbers on your Airstream?
