I have no idea!
I have no idea. I want to know where all the remote KOA Kampgrounds are so I can plan trips to them. The last KOA Kampground (Bowling Green, KY) I stayed at was sitting within a stones throw of an interstate highway and we could hear the traffic all night long.

As you travel you'll no doubt learn, as have we, that most KOAs are very accessable to the Interstate Highway system. In our opinion, they're good for a quick overnight and then back on the highway. Noise is an issue for the most part. The few exceptions we've found are the KOA in Wytheville, VA, one near Hot Springs, ARK and one in North Little Rock, ARK. The one in your city is a prime example of one near the noisy Interstate. Your state does; however, have wonderful and secluded state parks that are, for the most part, a short drive off the Interstate (40) and are relatively cheap when compared to KOAs. Try beginning your camping with them when the occasion arises and good luck with your search for quiet KOAs. Other forum members no doubt can help with your search.

Over many years of camping I have seen many KOA's from interstate's and other major highways, leading me to avoid them.
I say, use an atlas and seek out state parks, for me always a good bet.
Also, we have found Corp of engineers and county parks to sometimes to be very nice and priced right. Just a little hard to find out about now and then.
Just my opinion.

I really enjoyed the one south of Savannah Georgia - on the water - and swans came in to beg for food. Convenient and well maintained - felt rustic, but only minutes from downtown Savannah.
Paula
The one here in Virginia Beach is a dump.

Not sure if you have ever used RV Park Reviews :: Home??? But I have used them everytime we have wanted to go somewhere and not known the area. They have helped us pick a much nicer campground than when just using google. We are also with the others that say look for State Parks and Army Corp of Eng. These are usually the nicer, cheaper, better located for seclusion than most private owned campgrounds. Happy Camping

I would have to agree, rvparkreview.com is a wonderful resource for real information on rv parks. You also have to review three sites before your posts are allowed, to prevent false posting. I have always found the reviews to be very accurate and they give you clear warnings, like next to train tracks or busy highways. Check it out.

Stayed twice at the KOA in Springfield, MO on way and returning from Madison International. Way off from everything and on a narrow road.
Stayed at the KOA in Kankakee this year. It is on a narrow road 1/4 mile off the old highway that preceded the interstate. Not a sound out there.
The KOA in North Little Rock is well away from the interstate, but just a couple of miles from the best catfish restaurant I have enjoyed for years. Stayed there going to Michigan this year and stopped again on the way home to enjoy more catfish.

East of Meridian, MS off of I-20
Toomsuba KOA is a few miles off the interstate and one of the better KOA's we have stayed. Not the best road to the KOA but far enough from everything and what I would call secluded.

I forgot Toomsuba. Funny name and really, really nice folks. I agree on the road to the campground; I thought I was lost the first time I stopped there.

We love the one on South Padre Island...not so much secluded, but on the water and across from one of our favorite waterparks, Schlitterbahn.

I really messed this one up. I meant Springfield, Illinois. There are just too many Springfields around.

I have stayed in quite a few along the road, some better than others. A few honorable mentions: Elk City, OK (no internet connection PERIOD, but I had an 800 number to connect with ) Amarillo, TX (watched the Osprey's being tested and rabbits EVERYWHERE also saw huge long freights) then last but not least; North Little Rock, AR.

Did you know there is a Springfield in MA
There are a bunch around especially if you count the unincorporated ones.
