Yes, you won't find any Lance trailers more than 12 years old. Airstream has been building the riveted aluminum sausages for a long time. It is great to see a very old one fully restored with love and effort. I would happily set four arranged tangentially around a common patio and forget about a home.
We own a 2019 Lance 1685 and have had zero problems so far. Spacious, easy to tow, great dealer service. Did I mention spacious? A real queen bed to boot. And we can sell it today for more than we paid new.
Do we still admire the 27' or 28' Airstreams? Of course! Good layout, great light. Price not so much. But that's why we have market competition.

They have been making truck campers for a long time though. I included those in my search.

Thought I posted about my good friends experience with a Lance 28', loaded...power everything! After spending several weeks up in WY and MT with us last summer, and encountering a few "problems" with his new Lance with slides, and spending time inside/outside both TTs for dinner, drinks etc...his wife told him to dump the Lance and get a 28FC Twin like ours...selling point besides the "no slides" was the openness of the AS, the windows, the seperate dinning/lounging areas when inside...and no "gadgets" to break or hang up like power awnings or levelers...they got a new 28' and are loving it! He says it tows much better also...no slop from wind or semis...(I could have told them that...)

We purchased a 2019 27' international in December of 2019. We got a fantastic deal on it from a dealer in Denver that had 3 of them. 3 months later.... Covid..... boy did we get lucky!
No regrets on our purchase over the Lance. Our only issue so far is a bathroom door knob that AS sent to me to replace under warranty. We have over 10,000 miles of towing it and over 90 nights in it.
Love it!
