It's Thursday, and I like my Airstream because......
hi folks
if done correctly this will be #500 in my key dancin'...
looked over some of the "milestone" posts...
and it sure seems flamingo kid 1 has the most lasting #500 with the thread....
"what do you do for work?"
....lots of replies, >10,000 views with many sharing about themselves....
as martha might say........it's a good thread.
in that spirit, i offer up this thread starter.........
on thursdays, i'll come to this thread whenever a connection is at hand and provide just one thing i like about my airstream or airstreamin'....
sure hope you will join me on thursdays....and post just one thing YOU like about your airstream or airstreamin'
long or short, old or new, big or small, argosy or air, moho, trailer, van or coffee bar, whole or in parts......
"one thing i like about my airstream or airstreamin' is..........."
here is my offering this week.....
i like the fact that it is so much like the other airstreams from any decade....
and regardless of age or condition i feel some connection to the other folks who have one or remember the one they used to enjoy.....
it is hard to imagine that a few sheets of aluminum and a bag of rivets makes for this connection....but it does....
or is it something else?
ok your turn.................
now no milestone post from me would be worth a hoot......
without a little humor.........
just how much sweat and effort goes into the posting here?.....
the attached gif........
represents what i go through, every time i post......
so put some effort into it folks!!!!
WARNING THE FOLLOWING IMAGE CONTAINS GRAPHIC VIOLENCE....
NO CARTOON CHARACTERS WERE ACTUALLY HURT DURING PRODUCTION...
AND THE RED STUFF ISN'T BLOOD....but it is funny.
cheers

it's thursday, and i like my airstream because......
......it's our perfect vacation home! Wherever we decide to travel, we have our vacation home. We may want to take in a National or State Park, attend a rally, or see friends in other states without imposing on them. We can even use it year-round in Oregon! Next Thursday we're off to the coast to rally with forums members! Yippee!

ditto --- becuz:
I don't have to mow when I decide to spend a weekend at the "cabin."
(Mustn't look outside now -- feels summery in here, though a distinct lack of feral skeeter buzzing might give me away....)

Well, actually, if it inspires a gif like that, who needs other reasons. Made my day, for some reason.

Ok, I'll bite. it's thursday, and i like my airstream because I made more progress today on repairing our (one-sided) tail droop! Half of the bathroom is now removed: good because the bathroom sections need some attention themselves; and good because now I can now reach the droopy rotted floor section. Now if I could just get the weather to turn back to the unseasonably warm days without snow, I could make even more progress!
1. fix tail droop and bathroom fixtures (in progress)
2. check water system for leaks and sanitize
3. check all power, including running lights
4. repack wheel bearings
5. replace two windows
6. get two new tires
7. balance new and less-new tires
And NOW I'm going to go wander around the internet and dream about heading over to the four-corners area on vacation! Ski season ends at the end of March, and that's when we close the park for a while and hitch up!

Congratulations on your 500th post 2air. Love the animated gif.
It's Thursday and I like my Airstream more than I did on Wednesday and less than I will like it on Friday.
Mondays Airstreams are fair of pace
Tuesdays Airstreams are styled with grace
Wednesdays Airstreams are full of woe
Thursdays Airstreams have far to go
Fridays Airstreams are settled and camping
Saturdays Airstreams need work and revamping
And the Airstreams that are home on Sunday
Are bonny and shiny, and that's how they stay.

It's Thursday and I like my Airstream because it holds promise for diversions from my "real" world.
So it's actually Friday but I'm catching up!

it's thursday and i like my airstream because........
hi all
a week has passed, so i know you've all been saving up reasons to like your airstream....well me too.
gotta pace myself....don't want to list everything i've thought of at one time...and some have been mentioned already by others...i like that.
the reasons to date are great...and as diverse as the owners....don't be afraid to repeat one, in your own way....if you want to....
it's thursday and i like my airstream because.........
of the way the front sofa functions.....
first off it's pretty darn comfortable as a sofa....not too firm, not too saggy.....just right.
next it's the best sofa bed i've sleep on...firm, soft, no lumps or metal thingies....
and it opens/folds pretty smoothly with a durable mechanical feel...it should last.....
then there is that end storage under the arms, and behind the back.
also the drawers down under come in handy.....and the foot lockers over head hold a lot.
it's the perfect place for guests as long as they dont' mind sharing with the pooch.........
so what's your thusday reason?
cheers

O.K. it's Thursday and I LOVE my Airstream, because....
Yesterday the big brown truck delivered my remote generator switch and hour meter. Since putting Airstream One to work last year with the Generac 40 Quietpac in the belly I've had to get out of the bus and open the generator box to start or stop the genset . This has been a real drag.
But what has been more of a drag is the inability of my local AS dealer to get off their butt and order a part that I was more than willing to pay them to get. I finally gave up and then saw the part I needed in a Northern catalog.
Now the only question is where to mount it?

With the "Late Model" automotive world going RETRO, we're already there with ours!
We love our Airstream for most of the other reasons stated below but the biggest reason we love ours is how warm and fuzzy we all get when our wonderful Grandchildren camp with us. Now that's the ultimate in our book!

It's Thursday, and I like my Airstream:
Because it releaves stress when I work on it, I know it is paid for!!!!!!
It never talks back, never leaves it's mark, and is alway's ready for adventure. Plus a nice place to go and have a nice glass of wine and relax.
