It's Thrusday and I like my Airstream because I have started working nights. I come home, pull the shades, turn on the AC, climb in and sleep all day.

Our AS is now known at the Alumawomb. My wife didnt appreciate the
Tin-Uterus, The TU for short.

So Alumawomb it is. Sleep well all you night shifters.

Thursday for the Airstream...

It is Thursday! And... I my sweet Bambi. We aren't planning anything for a little while, but she is ready to go when we do! It is so great to have a little home on wheels one can jump in and take off!

Happy trails!

We've been back home from the RMVAC for a few days now and next weekend we host an outing with our Flyfishing Club. Do you remember this thread?

It's Thursday and I like my Airstream because it gives me an opportunity to laugh at life.
(note - this is a bit long, and a big gross - sorry)

Case in point - we were madly trying to prepare for a long trip down to Florida recently. Pack this, pack that, in and out of the house. Didn't have time to cook supper on our last night before leaving so I bought a ready-made rotisserie chicken and put it on the counter.

Didn't put it far enough away however. During one of my trips to stock up the Airstream, my Aussie (Gus) decided that the bbq aromas were too much for him so he decides to get that chicken and eat pretty much the entire thing (he didn't have any adverse effects from the chicken bones thank goodness). My fault entirely, so I just shook my head.

Then I belatedly realize that Gus has a sensitivity to chicken. Whoops. Oh well - we'll keep our fingers crossed.

Next morning, load the kids into their seat and the dogs into the crate and off we go on our big trip, early in the morning. The trip started off well, dogs were quiet (as were the kids) for hours. During one point early on, we saw a dead raccoon or something in the middle of the road (still dark out by this time) so we drove over the middle of it. As the truck passed over the creature we heard and felt a thump. We looked at each other and crinkled our noses - must have been the hitch chains that hit it. oops. Oh well.

Eventually stopped for gas and go to the back to get the dogs out to do their business when I realize that Gus's meal the night before had worked its magic. There was dog diarrhea everywhere, all over the bed, all over both dogs' legs, between the wires of the crate, etc.... It was horrendous. I started to giggle a bit, because what else can you do?

So out come the dogs, and I start wiping them down with the only thing I had on hand - diaper wipes. I'm going through wipes like crazy, trying to keep an eye on the kids so they don't wander into traffic. Gus (who started all this nonsense) stood nicely while I cleaned him up. Lexi (Lab cross) on the other hand, started to wander a bit. I look over and there she is, having a snack at the hitch chains - with what was very definitely remains from the creature we hit earlier on. Mmmm - raccoon tartare.

I burst out laughing - hubby couldn't figure out why I was laughing so hard.

So I figure that this Airstream is allowing me to experience a different slice of life - and for that I'm grateful. Thought it's a good thing that the positive experiences far outweigh the grosser ones though.

Cheers.

It's Thursday and I like my Airstream because this weekend I will be prepping her for our Labor Day Weekend trip to one of our favorite campgrounds: FDR State Park in Warm Springs, GA. We will be hitting the Balloon Festival at Calloway and letting the boys do some fishing. It will be nice to have a three day weekend to enjoy the Airstream and nature.

so close

It is Thursday and I love my Airstream because we are so close to being able to actually *use* it that I can taste it. After two very, very long years of remodeling......

Michelle

That was cute; loved the raccoon snack.
