I love my Airstream so much here I am trying to rewrite my will so that it (along with the '57 wagon TV) goes to a good home should something unfortunate happen. Hey, we've got to think of these things right? My brother is mister clean but it's not going to be big enough for him. My sisters will tow it into the backwoods on wild camping trips and it will get broken. My sister in law will love it, but her hubby is not mechanically inclined so he will do more damage than good as I've witnessed in the past, and again it will likely get hauled off into the woods and I don't want that to happen. But darn it, I care too much about it to just have it ruined or sold off so now I've really got to look at my friends and decide which one of them would likely outlive me, and also appreciate it for what it is.........yep, it's Thursday and I really love my Airstream.

We have finalized our itinerary from NY to Sarasota, leaving Sunday morning
Started packing, I can't wait to see the ice disappear off the roof of our frozen AS as we head south

It's funny, now that you mention it. I hadn't even thought about that.

Well, I couldn't log into this thread yesterday due to some technical difficulty that has been resolved so I'm going to log my love note today. It's the day after Thursday and I love my Airstream because tonight I hitch-up to leave first thing in the morning for a long weekend, short trip whichever you call it, trip to our favorite place on earth...Walt Disney World.
Yep, this will be our third camping trip at Ft. Wilderness since we bought our Airstream last May. We have three more trips to Ft. Wilderness planned for this year after this one. Two will be long weekends like this one and one will be for a week just before Christmas! We just can't get enough of camping of Ft. Wilderness.
On a sad note though, this trip comes at optimum timing. My mother-in-law passed away last week and my wife really needs a change in scenery. I was blessed to have a positive relationship with my mother-in-law so I was deeply saddened at her passing , but am glad that her suffering has passed.
Enough of the morose business, on with the camping!

Mother In laws come in all shapes, sizes, and temperments. Mine was a wonderful Scottish war bride and was a great lady. So condolences to you and your family, and go enjoy some time away. Camping heals the soul.

I also lost my mother-in-law this year. A wonderful woman who enjoyed her own life and marriage enough not to interfere with her son's. But she was always there with her dry English wit, her intense interest in politics, her beautiful piano playing, and her love of family, friends, laughter, and a decent scotch.
I think there are surprisingly many of of us who have fond memories of these unexpected women in our lives.
Enjoy your adventures for her--and for her daughter!
Janet

Good for you Gene. It's about time you grabbed one yourself. Now the trick is to get out and enjoy the heck out of it.

Congrats Gene!
Now you can truly tell people looking to buy that you own one, and wouldn't consider anything else!
