it's Memorial Day weekend and i like my airstream because.....

2air suggested this in this it's thursday thead and I agree, here goes.....

The Silver Pill is in front of the house "almost" ready to roll. When my wife get's home from work we are gone! 4 days of camping, flyfishing and friends. My flyfishing club rents a lake from the White Mountain Apache tribe this weekend every year and a great time is had by 80 to 100 of us. Life is good...

Well, this will be our first week end of camping in our new Airstream...in fact it will be our shake down cruise. We pick up our '06 30' Safari on Saturday and off we go to the mountains for the remainder of the week end. We are soooo looking forward to it. My wife has been staging the gear in the dining room and I honestly don't know if it will all fit in the bed of my F-250 and that isn't half the stuff she has bought over the last year!

The kids are excited, the wife is excited, and I am excited. The week just isn't passing by fast enough!

CONGRATS to AZFLYCASTER on your 1000th post!

Its Thursday before Memorial Day Weekend and I DON'T WANT TO WORK!
I'm bring home the silver palace at lunch. When I was leaving the house this morning at 5:30 to go to the gym. My 3 year old daughter came out of her room and says "Daddy are you going to get the Airstream?" I said yes, I'll bring her home this afternoon. She did a little dance while still half asleep it was really cute and a funny way to start my day. We will be heading up the mountain to Flagstaff for the weekend with friends.. ahhhh cooler weather Phoenix 104 degrees and Flagstaff 79...this alone is reason to love camping. Ahhh..
Safe travels to all this weekend.
AZstreamin.

I've finally gotten started on the Sovereign re-hab, made the decision to use PEX for water, and have designed the bedroom (rear) and bath mods. But even better, for the first time I have all three Space Ships in the back yard!

Smile Kayaking, fishing, favorite beachside campsite...

Its Memorial Day weekend and we're going to camp at our favorite site (so far!) on the Great Lakes! Its so lovely there at night, you can really see the stars. Its also cool enough at night to really enjoy the campfire. I can't wait to go for a nice trip in the kayak!

Safe travels everyone! Thanks to all veterans past and present this Memorial Day.

We picked up our Safari Saturday and camped the rest of the week end. We took the kids to "See Rock City" and toured the Raccoon Mountain Caverns. It was a great week end with grilling and settling into the new Airstream. I'll have to post some pictures this evening when I get home.

azflycaster, that looks like a beauty of a place to be anytime of the year.

AZflycaster,
What lake is that in the White Mountains? We are considering camping at Fool Hollow Lake the 3rd weekend of June. Appreciate your input and review of any recommended lake destinations. I'll need a beautiful relaxing lake to unwind after an upcoming intense week in NYC.
Thanks,
AZstreamin

It's Cyclone Lake which is located just north of Holly Lake on the Apache Reservation. It is only available for group rentals. My flyfishing club paid $400 per day plus a few bucks per person per day. The fishing was so-so, I caught a bunch of rainbows but they were mostly small. The weather was great, cool days and cold nights. The early mornings were right around freezing every morning. The down side was the wind, we had to keep the awning rolled up most of the time, gusts were 30+ MPH. The White Mountains has dozens of small lakes on and off of the reservations that would be a good place to recharge. If you don't want to travel as far, the rim lakes are just as nice, but tend to have more people.

It's Memorial Day and We Like Our Airstreams . . .

because even though we can't take them out for every holiday weekend, they remain steady and true, ready for the road ahead and the adventures that await.

On this day set aside to remember fallen heroes whose lives were taken from them defending our country and our freedoms, as well as defending others not able defend themselves, we honor their sacrifices.

To the families that have lost loved ones who died in our nation's service you have our sincere condolences and our countless thanks. Your and your loved ones' sacrifices are not forgotten. Thank you as well to our veterans, all active duty service men and women, and the men and women in law enforcement and their families. because of your service and sacrifice we are blessed to enjoy our freedom. You have our undying gratitude.
