Insurance Help

I sure would like some recommendation on insurance. While I recognize that every company has its good customers and bad ones I wanted to get the collective wisdom on which providers have done the best job in your experience.
Thanks for any advice you can provide.

Here’s free advice worth everything you paid for it

There are too many x-factors for someone else’s experience to be transferable to you. Experiences with carriers may be informative but when it counts - in a claim - the reality is, when you’ve seen one claim - you’ve seen ONE claim. The facts, details, jurisdictional differences, individuals in the process and a million more factors tell the story....

My $0.02 - get a broker you can trust to help evaluate your situation and recommend a carrier suited to your total needs.

Others will chime in. Just one guy’s opinion here. I’m in the Insurance industry and use a broker myself. It’s too damn complicated

Don't know your situation but particularly if you have an older trailer or a newer one more than a few years old you probably want an agreed value policy. Companies that provide that option would be on the short list.

I have been happy with Progressive. I had a significant "at fault" claim and they were great to deal with. They did raise my rate for three years but I'm coming out from under that now. The rate difference total was less than the claim paid out so not so bad.

Look at the ads in the WBCCI magazine, read through the forums, check with Escapees, FMCA and Americas Mailbox insurance folks. Call and get a quote from ALL of them. Each year at renewal do it all over again. That's about the only way to make sure that year to year you are getting the best price for coverage. Personally I would not do business through Camping World due to past experience. Also note that the number of companies writing policies especially for more expensive RV's like motorhomes has been decreasing the last couple of years.
