I’m very comfortable driving 12 hours a day, if needed I can do 14 hours without affecting how I feel the next day. I know I’m in the minority here driving that long and if we are lucky enough to have more time in the future we will certainly slow it down.

Ahh yes. I remember driving from Omaha to Cheyenne and arriving around 1 pm. Today, 57 miles to Vegas and I am disturbed that there's not a single place to stop and take a break!

Ah, well that's our bias. We stop in KC because KC is home!
But if you need a nice place in central Missouri I can recommend Cottonwoods RV Park in Columbia MO. We have stayed there several times and it is a nice, shady, friendly family-run place with a great location just a few miles north of I-70.

My wife and I have 2 rules.
1) No one drives more than 2 hours at a stretch.
2) If the driver gets even remotely sleepy switch or stop.
3) Not a rule, but we generally drive posted speeds.

Hi
Indeed I question the "safety" of "I always drive 55 no matter what". If the posted speed on the road is 80 and the rest of traffic is doing 90+, they are closing on you at around 40 MPH. That's very likely to create issues ....

Well, I can give you the less-safe, insane, and non-enjoyable endpoint for bracketing purposes.
Hours: Almost all of them. Eighteen, at least.
Miles: Above 900. We only did it once, as we were outrunning a Louisiana-bound hurricane and we were en route back to Houston.
As a sane solo driver, I typically do 500 to 600 miles per day and I find that to be manageable.
But it's also required. I boondock as I'm traveling cross-continent, so I don't have air conditioning at night. No sense stopping while the sun is still shining - it's often too hot. So I just keep going.

THX, safe and sane in FL
Thanks to all who provided info and a special thanks to the offers for parking!
We made the trip: Apple Valley, CA, Denver, CO, and final destination: Indian Harbour Beach, FL.
We traveled with a purpose, so did not have the time for side-trips.
End result was about 500 miles per day.
2018 Chevy Duramax did great. Due to CO fires we were diverted from interstate for several hundred miles, that included the longest construction delay in my life (2 hours). Counted about 6 other Airstreams on the state road as well as interstate. Only 1 time did I notice the upgrade, but maintained speed with a little more accelerator.
Pic is MDW with our new FL plate on the Airstream: SerendipiDEE!
Sorry for such a delay in reporting outcome--busy with the move and house improvements.

Speed is not the problem. The difference in velocity is the real issue...

We fall into the 250 mile per day maximum range category, keeping it at 65 mph. Sometimes we need to cover more miles in a day, and that’s fine. On those days, we try to be on the road no later than 8:00 AM. It’s important to consider road conditions and weather conditions as you think about how far you’d like to go. Towing on a clear, smooth road in nice weather is much more relaxed than towing in poor weather conditions, heavy wind, etc.

Hi
There are an unfortunate lot of roads (and sections of the country) where 90+ is indeed "how people drive it".

For me it's 5 hours. That's about the point when my sensory systems start to diminish and focus on the road wanes.
