It's a little bit harder on the pocketbook to buy more than one brand new trailer! I'm assuming, by "repeat sales", you mean trading/selling one to buy another.

I don't think I would want more than one new trailer anyhow...the vintage trailers are for me. The only reason I have a new trailer is so I can camp while restoring the vintage trailers.

My trailer stash is:
2002 Bambi 19' - pristine condition and being used
1964 Bambi II 17' - pristine, almost restored condition and being used
1954 Safari 22' - in the process of restoring and not using

I have two. My original 75 Argosy 28 that I've had since 1992 and the '79 Excella 500 31' that I've owned since March 2005.

It's hard to describe how much I like this Excella. One would not think that three feet makes much of a difference, but it's perceived as a BIG ONE by me. In the Argosy the living room and the kitchen sort of merge and the twin beds sort of negate the hallway idea. In the Excella, there's a LOT of room in the front, and the hallway has a triple closet, which is almost a crazy luxury in an RV.

I can buy in to the idea that there is a living area, a kitchen, a bath, and a bedroom in the Excella. I never had that feeling in the Argosy. It all just blended in together, except for the rear bath, which did feel distinctively separate.

That said, I wonder how much of that effect is due to furnishings. The Excella has different colors for each portion. There's even a different pattern in the vinyl covering in the tiny bathroom. It makes a stronger statement that, "I am a different part of this trailer," and the Argosy does not.

Don't get me wrong, however. I loved the Argosy and it was very, very good to me. It was one of the best investments I've ever made. I hope that this Excella is as good to me in the long run, too.

So far, so good...

We have owned two and are currently looking for number three.
Our first was a 75 Tradewind now owned by Balrgn and now we own Chummy. We are currently looking for a smaller trailer to let our married children use when they come camping with us.

almost too many...(just kidding)

Let's see......'72 sovereign #1, '71 sovereign,' 74 sovereign, '72 sovereign #2, '63 globetrotters #1-2&3, '76 something or other, '61 tradewind, '66 safari, '72 excella, and my very most favorite a '60 overlander. Some stayed original- some not. The '60 is what we hit the road in now...all original, even the fridge works. I am 75% finished with it's shine job and it sports a gorgeous bright yellow and gray and blue striped awning with scalloped fringe. I will get started on my '63 globetrotter this winter- it won't be original- I've stripped it down to the shell.
The most I have had at any given time is 6.

Peace- Holly

Both Interstates, an ‘06 and then an ‘07, continuously (but for a few months in between) since 2007.

About 225,000 miles to date put on the two of them.

🏡 🚐 Cherish and appreciate those you love. This moment could be your last.🌹🐚

This is a very old thread.. We are on number three. 04 19’CB Safari, 11 23’FB Flying Cloud, and our current 2020 25’FBT Globetrotter. I am pretty sure we will not go any larger, but may downsize some day.

Three and I traded the old wife for a new one in the process.

I thought I had a problem having owned 3, but wow, my hat is off to the 6, 7, 8, 9. 10 and more crowd.

1.) 1981 Excella 22'
2.) 1989 Excella 29'
3.) 1994 Excella Classic 30'

Each one has needed work due to lack care by the previous owners. I have enjoyed them as projects and the Airstream community I have come to know.

I currently own two (2) Airstreams: both vintage.

Our first is a 1964 Bambi II (17'). It came into our lives in 2010.

Our second is a 1961 TradeWind (24'). It came into our lives in 2020.

I have been personally involved with a total of 5 Airstreams. In addition to my two, Dad and Mom owned a 1966 TradeWind, a 1972 Sovereign, and a 1985 Excella, though only one at a time!

Three, in this order:
2008 23’ Safari SE with L-lounge
2007 Basecamp (the original, and we loved it)
2007 16’ International

We started in 2010 and owned two simultaneously for most of the time.

RE: How Many Airstreams Have You Owned -- 19+ Years Later

My post was Number 17 over 19 years ago. At the time, I had owned 2 Airstream products, and still owned six of the 17 automobiles that I had purchased. Things have changed some in the intervening years. I still own both Airstream products -- the 1964 Overlander Land Yacht International that I acquired in 1995 as its third owner so I am fast approaching 29 years with that trailer although I had my first camping experience in it when I was five years old and it was brand new and owned by friends of my family. I also still own the 1978 Argosy Minuet 6.0 Metre that I acquired from its original owner in 2002 so I am approaching 22 years with that trailer. I have kept both trailers as near original as possible, but still maintain them so that I can enjoy them when I travel. Back then I owned six of the 17 cars that I had ever owned, I am down to only three of the 20 cars that I have ever owned now.

I have been accused by friends and family of being something of a packrat when it comes to my cars and Airstreams. When I get one that I truly enjoy, I can't bear to part with it. I have owned my 1984 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible for 32 years, my 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Brougham Luxury Sedan since April 21, 1985, and my 1992 Buick Roadmaster Limited Sedan for six years. Yes, the 1992 Buick Roadmaster Limited Sedan is the newest car that I own.
