the BEST forum rally of the year...2007
greetings and salutations ALL!
based on the smashing success of the first forum rally competition,
it's time to get the 2007 contest swinging.
2007 has been an amazing year for forum rallies...
so many more events this year, with attendance OFF the chart!
i quickly counted
over 30 forum rallies and several hundred forum rally go'ers...WOW!
in fact there is still one forum rally on the calendar for december (blanco state park xmas rally #5)
again that is ONE of the things that makes this online group special,
along with all the cyber chatter,
we get2gether in the
flesh and blood for FUN!
i paired the long list down to the ‘top 20’, based on estimated attendance....
no wbcci events (one exception), no tct events (sorry mt baker), minimum of 8 signed up (one exception) and
some sort of thread related TO the event...
there were a bunch with smaller attendance figures, and i'm sure most of those will grow in the years 2 come...
the rally calendar is VERY VERY active, and that's a GOOD THING!
with those thoughs i bring you the...
2007 best forum rally of the year! 2007
the basic rules are simple...
vote for your
2 favorite forum rallies from the
2007 calendar year...
yes you may vote for only ONE, if that's a preference.
pictures, event boasting, reminiscing and rally trash talking are encouraged…
hey u might even
pm folks who attended and encourage them to get online and VOTE!
this poll is gonna run till I feel like closing it,…
which is likely to be december 29th or so….
so here are the candidates for 2007 with the estimated locations and approximate trailer counts…
and just like last year IF the counts aren't exact, SUE ME!
the term 'trailer' includes mohos and other non-beverage vessels in attendance.
so, let the games begin and keep it clean...
or not

Ahh hemm...ah Mr 2air, the LPPI Metro-Detroit Forum Rally 2007 (winner of the 2006 forum poll) had more than 10 trailers this year, oh and 1 MOHO (can't leave buck out). Right off the top of my head I come up with at least 20 trailers and the mother ship, but I think I missed one or two. No worry the rest of the Strike Team will be here soon with the official count.

Well let me see here. We have only atteneded 2 Rallys this year and about 15 other trips. We were finally able to use our new baby. I will have to give both huge props for showing us what Airstreamers are all about.
Casini Ranch was our inaugural trip after spending months on the reberth of our 53' Flying Cloud. Every one was so welcoming and nice.
The next was Beverly Beach Bash. This was our furthest trip. Approx.
1500 mile round trip. Every one here made us feel right at home. Plus seeing 70 trailers, this was most impressive. There are my votes. .

Yep, your right Mr 2air, optional today.
I'll have the strike team stand down.

BB IV - It does not appear that any other one listed came close to the volume of trailers at this event.
Argosy's, Airstreams, MoHo's, and even a beautiful Pierce Arrow made it out to this shindig.
Thanks Janet and Gary, it was another great event for another year!

Gotta go for Branson here.
Branson was a huge success for first time rally goers, and even drew three forum members who did not stay at the actual rally site (Two of them in other campgrounds, and one in the hotel since his trailer was not mobile). The weather could not have been better, and the price was right with a 4-way hook up at $15.00.
Plus the chili competition spiced a few things up.

Bb Iv
Start with every song ever sung by Johnny Cash
Add in a little "Gentleman Jack" and you get a little air guitar.
Add a little more "Gentleman Jack" and you get dancing (of sorts).

Hey 2Air, I love that you do this thread, but there's at least one rally missing: the Western Region Women's Rally 3/24/07 at Cachuma Lake. What a fabulous gathering, and what a great experience for those of us who had the opportunity to really learn how to handle our Airstreams~ The "Rollertoaster" really became "my baby" after that outing!

hi janetb
i wanted to include that rally
especially since it was a first time event...
but the number of participants (that i could count) was under the 'cut' size...
about 6-7 trailers? yes, i DID read the entire thread hoping to find more....
i'm sure it was a grand adventure.
but there were another 10 rallies, or so with 4-7 campers that also didn't make the list...
next time invite me and i'll be sure to get it on the list!
after all my trailer IS a she/girl/lady/gal/woman/female/xx.....
with babes like these, with tails like these, and biceps like these, i'd be SO there!
cheers

It's too bad you limit the poll to forums rallies only. Because of that you leave out some great WBCCI rallies. The 4CU Balloon Rallies was one of the best rally I have ever attended.

BB IV and LSA II
Beverly Beach was one grand event. More silver than the US Mint... plus got to meet 2Air in person! LSA was especially fun with the Tarantula burning and gypsy violin music.
