I know the feeling. We are know in a world where everyone needs "their own" notebook. I recently bought a new Dell Mini 10.1" at Sam's Club for $328. It's 1 gig RAM and 160 gig hard drive. I have been using it exclusively for the last six weeks. I love this thing! I take it everywhere. It's small footprint (10" by 7") is great for the dinette table in Lucy. It's a really great deal for the bucks.

Mac (but my business requires that I run Windows on Parallels).
I have an original Bondi Blue iMac in the garage that will soon be used to run photo slideshows, not in the garage.
Also iPhone.

Mac,
A friend (and Mac fanatic) finally wore me down about 6 years ago and convinced me to try one after many years of PC use.
I don't get fanatical about these things but I am very happy with my Macs!

I used Mac at school before retirement--loved it. At home, we have an OLD Dell, very usable, but I miss my Macs. When I rebuy, maybe I'll move to a Mac lap top...silver, of course. ~G

Funny - after seeing Shari's pic and reading the thread on a beautifully polished canoe.
I'm thinking about how cool a polished mac would be. Hmmmmm...

UGH!!! I HATE 2 SYSTEMS - which is what we have right now. We started with Mac in the 80s, but then Sandy's work migrated to PC, as did my work from mainframes to PC. Right now, Sandy has a very nice Macbook and I'm running an old SLOW sony laptop. Next year, its a new MacAir - its aluminum, its a Mac, and its Air as in Stream.

Always have had Mac's (got the first Apple at a yard sale before there was a Mac). Now we have a laptop and my wife has an eMac. My first Powerbook was still going strong after 6+ years when I got the 17" version (silver case before I ever thought of an Airstream) which allows me to have numerous windows open simultaneously and actually see them.
These machines run flawlessly for years and years for us. You can buy rebuilt ones directly from Apple on their website for about 20% off.
I think the iPhone has become the handheld computer of choice for those wanting a really small Apple computer.

I had some limited exposure to MAC several ago and liked the system. The deal breaker was that it would not interface with my Dell Axim pocket PC which runs on Pocket Windows 2003. I am dependent on the Axim, and had to abandon my MAC pursuits.
I have a question for the MACs out there. Are there any new mini MACs available similar in size to the new Dell Mini 10 inch? I have have found this great for the Airstream with a 10" by 7" footprint. This has become my new full time notebook. It allows me to both use the computer and eat at the dinette table.

We have an 11" MacBook Pro, purchased this summer because prices had dropped several hundred dollars, our PowerBook G4 we'd had for 7 years was rather slow and going to inevitably have serious problems AND the new one has Skype for long distance visits with grandbabies.
#1 computer-genius son told us in 2002 to get a Mac and only a Mac, we have been completely happy with them and wouldn't travel without it.

Before we started down sizing we had 4 desk top and 2 lap tops all PCs. Right now we are down to 2 lap tops, one brand new this week, and 1 desk top that will go away this week. We've always gone with the PCs and plan to stay that way.

"mini" Macs (i.e. Tablets)

This is what a lot of the Mac world is waiting for too, a Mac tablet--something between the iPhone and the 13" MacBook. Rumors are rife. For a long time, Apple denied they would get into this lower end market, but lately (as it has exploded) all agree it is imminent. Some thought maybe yesterday at the new Apple iPod unveiling, but nope. Best guesses I've read are late this year or, more likely, when they do their January Expo. (I have the solid aluminum, 15" MackBookPro and I think it'll fit/work just fine in our coming 23' Flying CLoud.)
