2021 Which kind of Airstreamer are you?
Several years ago I started a poll to help look at the demographics of AirForums. I'm curious as AirForums has grown and lots of new members have joined, how has this changed?
Which kind of Airstreamer are you?
- Full-Timer "Parked" - Lives in their Airstream in lieu of a house and still works
- Full-Timer "On the Go" - Lives in their Airstream while hitting the road
- Traveler - Uses their Airstream in lieu of a hotel or cabin
- Rally Goer - Uses their Airstream to attend rallies
- Camper - Uses their Airstream in lieu of a tent

I also posted a "sister poll" which asks " Full Time vs Part Time?" you may find those results interesting as well.

I selected "other". I'd probably fall into the camper 60% and traveler 40% category. We haven't attended a rally yet, but likely will in the future.

We fall into:
Camper, we have given our tent away after several years of not using it. If we camp with the kids (tent campers) and grandkids they pick a forest spot we can all fit into.
Rally, we have attended 4CU rallies almost from the get go. A 4CU member saw our excited new vintage owner posting in AirForums and promptly invited us to a rally as a guest. We've yet to attend a rallies with other units or out of state.
Traveler, we'd much rather pull our Motel 2 behind us than look for accomodations.

Am I doing this wrong? From the phone app I'm not sure I can do the poll. So I answered here instead.

I selected other because every year the numbers are different. 2020 was very few days at rallies, but lots of fishing. Prior years we spent months on Caravans but I do not now how they would be categorized in your poll.

Other.
Still work full time and still live at home.
During camping season we camp "locally"--under 2 hour drive-about 2x a month
Take an annual 2 week road trip to National Parks.
Visit an out of town child or college friend about once a season.

Hi, we are travelers [after all, we bought a TRAVEL trailer] and only attend one Rally per year.

I think you missed one
95% Boondocker (Camping implies to me something other than Boondocking)

I chose "other" as we are just starting out. Right now we are "parked" because of copious amounts of snow in good ol wyo.

Gone for a month long trip each year and several long weekends and a couple 2 week long trips per year. Some boondocking but maybe 5-10 nights per year. One day a Rally hopefully.
So 3 categories for us. (eventually)
Traveler - Uses their Airstream in lieu of a hotel or cabin
Camper - Uses their Airstream in lieu of a tent
Some day after Covid Rally Goer - Uses their Airstream to attend rallies

Too new to have an answer in the list
You didn't have "Nooooob" in the list of selections.
I've only had my trailer for a few days, so I'm not any of those yet, so any of the selections in the list were more aspirational, shall we say. I hope to be 90% camper, but at this point I'm 100% wannabe and dreamer with a 40-year-old trailer that smalls of mold and mildew, badly in need of a wash inside and out.
Just the same, I'm glad to find this web site as a resource. Thanks for having me and putting up with my very fundamental questions.
