2021 Full-Time vs Part Time

Several years ago I started a poll to help look at the demographics of AirForums. I'm curious as AirForums has grown and lots of new members have joined, how has this changed?

How many days do you anticipate spending in your trailer / motorhome this year?

Shari

P.S. "Not enough" still isn't an option!

I also posted a "sister poll" which asks "Which kind of Airstreamer are you?" you may find those results interesting as well.

I'm also curious if the current "social distancing protocol" has had an effect on this. If so, please explain.

Trailer usage changed w/life style changes over time. In beginning I was "parked" 90% of time 10% "camper", when working away from home for 10 years. This year we expect to be 50% Camper, 40% Travel and 10% Other (Business related).

COVID-19 really did not affect where or how we spent our nights while on the road. Nor have we observed any extreme social distancing while camping. Most did not use masks while outdoors. It did influence us to use the the trailer more frequently to make out of state trips to visit family or friends rather than use our car or fly because of the uncertainty of the availability of hotels and restaurant being open/closed in various states.

During Covid-19, I camped five times between March 20 to Late August. Camped less because of limited campsites available. Found a good campground - Ventura Waypoint which remains fully open whole time since the owners follow the COVI-19 protocol. Sold the 16' Bambi and was Airstreamless for around a month then bought lightly used 2019 FC 19' in salt Lake City early October. Made a spur of moment trip to Yellowstone (4 hr drive up north). Camped for for the weekend at a nearby campground. Then went down to south Utah for an overnighter. Stopped at Las Vegas for another overnighter to eat at one of Gordon Ramsay's restaurant. the next day went home. Camped at several different campground when restrictions was lifted. but the restrictions was put in place on December 3rd and all California state, and county campgrounds were closed. Camped at Ventura Waypoint several times during the strict restrictions. During Christmas week I camped at 3 different campgrounds in Arizona. it was like day and night comparing California and Arizona restrictions! now its lifted, I made reservations to camp this weekend in Anaheim, California near Disneyland.

Although COIVID-19 is around, it put some restrictions on our freedom to camp, you just have to do more research to find a hidden gem (available campground).
