Our New Baby - 1954 25' Cruiser

We still can't believe the find we made with this Airstream. She is a jewel. I posted some pictures of her today, if your interested. We can hardly wait for longer days and warmer weather so we can begin the projects we have planned for her.

Congratulations Wade and Pam. I found the pics on your previous post and it looks like a real beauty. Did you find it in WA?

Your Cruiser is fabulous! I love the woodwork, stove, and the drop-leaf table with matching chairs, same formica pattern was in my grandparent's kitchen. so cool. It looks to be in great shape. Enjoy your new gem.

A '54 in that kind of shape is really something to see. I wish mine had even a tiny bit of the charm yours does. Good luck and happy camping.

We found it about 2 miles from our house. That's the funny part. We joked (fantasized) about finding one in great condition, in the country, stored in a barn......don't know if this one was stored indoors any part of its life but its in great condition for its age. We ran across an ad in the local Giant Nickel Want Ads. Went out to see it in the dark and came back the next morning and bought it. The people we bought it from had it 3 years and they bought it from the original owners who lived in West Richland, too. Just meant to be I guess. Very lucky, we are.

Just found your thread. And yes, it was meant to happen!

From one 54 to another, Congrats!

I'd love to see the pics but I can't find them. Our 'WALLY 54" is in relatively good shape for its age. The interior has been mostly gutted, appliances and flooring, mattresses and heater are all gone, but the shell is beautiful and so is the wood, original fixtures and hinges.

Like you both, we're really looking forward to bringing her (him) back to life.

I'd love it if you would keep us all posted on your progress.

Thanks for updating the link!

Wade & Pam she's Beautiful! I love the stove and kitchen dinette. Very cool.

Do you have a name for her yet? Do you have any history on her? I don't see a number but maybe there's some info hidden inside? We found newspapers from Iowa that lined the shelves and some other trinkets around that were telling.

As Shari posted in our announcement thread about our 54 'Ohhh, if only they could talk!"

Really, keep us posted on your progress.

Kimber

54 Cruiser

Hi Kimber - I will let Pam respond to you when she gets off work later this evening. I would like to stay in touch and compare notes and pictures with you. We are currently trying to get in touch with the orignal owner and get some of the history from her. Will keep you posted. Thanks Wade.

Hi Wade and Pam - Congratulations on your find! I can't believe the shape that she's in - especially the interior. I just can't believe you found it down the road from you. Definitely meant to be.

Check out our blog for our '55 that we just bought. She needs some work, but the wood is still great and the floors aren't soft and there are no dents.

What a beauty!! What, if anything, is there to do to her? Judging from the photos, she looks to be complete and ready to travel and rally. Even has the Chevy 'rally' wheels. Definately meant to be!!

She looks maaavelous!
