This has been posted elsewhere on the forums - but here is a detailed (pics and all) set of Rockguard mounting instructions for an Argosy Minuet.

OK - well there seems to be an error message opening the file in the previous post - we'll work on it. I guess we're still in the testing phase!

Rockguard installation on Argosy Minuet
Greetings Andy!
I am running Windows XP Professional with the full Adobe Acrobat 5.0 package, and when I download the file (I am on a DSL Internet connection) I am getting an error message as follows: "Error reading linearized hint data".

Not for Adobe 5.0
Tried again. I have Adobe 5.0 Professional. Been meaning to update it to 6.0 Professional. I use my company laptop so I have access to Adobe Acrobat Pro.
I get the error: "Error reading linearized data".

I've done the Service Pack 2 biz and run Firefox -- the latter being source of trouble on certain websites. But I had no trouble opening this .pdf file and have the simple Acrobat Reader only -- can't even say I've done any updates lately.
The original link still works of course... An invaluable item on these forums if you ask me!!!

The pdf was created in adobe 5. I run XP on one machine and 2000 on another - both with adobe 5. I get the same error message. But - i can read the file - saved on my hard drive. i mounted the file on my own website (very breifly) and was able to download...suggestions?

It looks like that has something to do with the Acrobat plugin and the way it optimizes the bites for quick viewing in your browser.
Here is a fix I found for this:
Quote:
http://www.royalmouldings.com/Pages/AdobeHelp.htm
Why do I get "Error reading linearized hint data" when I try to open a PDF file using Adobe Acrobat Reader 5?
If you are using Internet Explorer or Netscape to go to a URL containing a PDF file, you may get an error message, "Error reading linearized hint data" when you try to open some PDF files using Adobe Acrobat Reader. You can correct this problem in Adobe Acrobat Reader 5 by doing the following: Open the Adobe Acrobat Reader, click Edit, click Preferences, click General (if required), click Options, uncheck "Allow Fast Web View.", and click OK to save the changes.
Why do I get "Error reading linearized hint data" when I try to open a PDF file using Adobe Acrobat Reader 6?
If you are using Internet Explorer or Netscape to go to a URL containing a PDF file, you may get an error message, "Error reading linearized hint data" when you try to open some PDF files using Adobe Acrobat Reader. You can correct this problem in Adobe Acrobat Reader 6 by doing the following: Open the Adobe Acrobat Reader, click Edit, click Preferences, select "Internet" in the table on the left, uncheck "Allow Fast Web View.", and click OK to save the changes.

Janet,
I have a question. I was looking at a 1974 Argosy Trailer 27 foot. Would you know which model it would be?

Chuck, There are two distinctly different argosy's from the seventies, Argosy and Argosy Minuet. The minuets were made in 77 - 79 and were narrower than standard Argosy. If the one you're looking at is a 74 it is a standard Argosy - the same width as an Airstream of that vintage...
The lenght of record is measured from bumper to ball... For floor plans, check out Overlander64 photo albulm. He has great documentation of the argosy line!
