Replacing the water lines

Hey there everyone, I'm making some big moves in my Argosy this year. It's a 1972 22'. Last fall I replaced all of the waste water lines, and this year we're looking to replace the water supply lines. The intention is to have all new plumbing by the end of July so I can take it on a tubing trip with some friends.

I will take lots of pictures and document everything. But I do have some questions that maybe you guys can help with. It has mostly original copper piping in it, but I am replacing all of that with PEX. Has anyone ever done this with their argosy, and can they tell me whether or not they were able to keep the old toilet, shower, etc. or if they had to replace some of the appliances?

Almost everything in it is still original (showing some light wear and tear) but I want to keep as much as I can.

Thank you!

I used PEX, brass barbs, and crimped rings in my ‘68 Tradewind. I’m fairly confident you’ll be able to source the required fittings needed to connect to the exiting water heater, sinks, shower valve, toilet, and water pump. I’d suggest keeping the original fittings until your project is completed. It’s certainly possible to transition from a rare fitting to a PEX line via a short section of the original pipe but I don’t think you’ll need to do so.

I did the same as Brian, did not have to replace any appliances. I did replace the shower faucet and toilet, not because of pex.
