Replacing Shower in our 1976 Argosy

After reading a number of posts here I am happy to say that our recent purchase of a 1976 Argosy 25' is going to be relatively painless in comparison.

I do have a question regarding the shower walls. The previous owner painted the surround with flat white paint including the wall paper against the back of the shower.

What would you recommend that we use on the wall to create a watertight surface? I was thinking about a Formica type of material. It will bend in the curve shape from the front to the side and I can get a separate panel cut for the back side. Is this a good idea or does anyone have a better suggestion?

What did it originally come with?

Most likely the shower was formed with ABS sheet originally. I don't know what your shower looks like so I don't know if you could form the sides with replacement ABS or formica. Any chance or refinishing the existing with an epoxy paint?
