New Argosy 24 toilet
Hi all. Thought I would post this as it seems hard to find a toilet that will fit the Argosy due to the hidden shelf behind the toilet seat. The pictures show the old toilet and the new. The pic of the new has the brown padded door behind it.
This is a Thetford Aqua Magic Residence Low, and it does fit on the platform and just makes it under the surround behind the toilet.
Note that the distance from the center of the flange to the back wall on the residence is 9 inches. Many other models are 11 inches which will put the toilet too far back and hit the wall.
I did have to rotate the flange. The original bolts were at 10 and 4. The new ones need to be at 3 and 9. Just remove the screws, and rotate the flange. No need to remove it. Reuse the short the screws. Longer ones may pierce the tank below.
Also the toilet seat does not quite open all the way. It hits the back rest just a bit. If you remove the trap door the lid will open all the way. Not a big deal.
Hope this helps. I had a hard time finding a toilet that would fit.

Compartment door
I know this is an older thread, but if anyone has any photos as to how that little trap door above the toilet is attached to the plastic backing I would really appreciate it

It's 4 or 5 pop rivets using a piano style hinge. Very easy to remove

Thank you!
Thank you for that!
I will look to replace it. Any chance you have one and could measure it for me?
It appears that mine was riveted along the bottom aspect of it, is yours attached at the bottom as well? What holds it closed?

Honestly, without the door the toilet seat stays up. With the cover only the outer seat stays up. Us fellas have to use one hand to hold the seat and the other to hold...

How did you make out/
Hardest part of any plumbing job in our old Argosy is matching up the old eater line tubing to new stuff. Total nightmare. Our Argosy is plumbed with what I believe is refrigeration tubing. So sizing is a big If. FYI, I have been able to use 1/4 inch shark bite push on fittings with success. But only after sanding and sanding down the old tubing. I have then tapped on the push fittings with no leaks so far. Absolutely hate the plumbing in the Arg.

Patiently waiting
I wish I could say, but the darn toilet hasn’t even shipped yet. Apparently Camping World is having some difficulty keeping up with demand in the time of COVID. I did however get the flange loose and replaced the wood that hold the toilet and acts as the bottom shelf in the cabinet. Mine was a bit old to say the least! That of course opened a whole can of worms and now I am waiting on new metal trim to arrive as the last owner had so many rivet holes in the trim that it was shot. But getting there!
Thank you for checking in. I’m hoping to have more news soon!

I should also mention that I do think the plumbing has been updated in mine. I just unscrewed some newer looking water line. Easy. But now I am wondering if I missed something if yours is so much different :/
