Looking for an owners manual for 1976 Argosy 24'
I'm looking for an owners manual for a 1976 Argosy 24 foot trailer. From what I hear around the forums, Argosy did not publish owners manuals for their products and you have to use the corresponding Airstream manual for the Argosy? Don't know for sure about this? Regardless, I'll take what I can find that is similar to the Argosy.

Once in a while you will see these manual pop up on ebay. Originals and on disc. I loaned the original Argosy manual from my '75 Argosy 26 to a Forums member a couple of years ago so that he could make copies and he promptly fell off the face of the earth - with my book.

Shades of the 70s
Argosy definitely made manuals and they were definitely '70s. All the docs that came with mine made it irresistible. I can scan it or photograph the pages if you don't get SmokelessJoe's copies.

Sergei,
Yes, I'll take a copy. Is your copy in PDF form?
Thanks,
Bob

Bob,
The manual is 82 pages and I don't have a scanner or photo copier.
There is a photo copy at my trailer which would be easier to copy but that is 3 hours away and I don't know when next I'll be there.
Let's wait to see if DBK can make you a pdf more quickly. If he can't I can eventually send you a photo copy.

I'll try to get mine copied one way or another before vacation starts on the 29th. It's handy in the trailer, I'll be there this weekend getting the brakes set up and seeing if my hitch height adjustment is right. It's probably not going to be a PDF, but I have a reasonably easy way to make a multipage TIFF off the scanner (one file for the whole book) or just a set of JPG images of the pages.

DKB,
I guess Sergei won't be able to get to his trailer for a while. If you could generate a copy it would be much appreciated.

I'll certainly try, and I'll send you whatever I have if I don't finish imaging it before we leave.

Thanks DKB and anyone else that wishes to generate copies and send them forward, it's very much appreciated. It looks like PHLY36 wishes to get a copy also.

OK, I've scanned the 1975 Argosy manual (such as it is.) I started out doing bitonal TIFF files which are great for the text and diagrams, but looks awful when there's a photo. Then I figured out that 100dpi full-color jpgs are still very readable, work well for the photo pages and provide a much smaller file. I didn't go back and re-scan the pages I had done as TIFF that didn't have photos, it just wasn't worth the time.
The zip containing all the images is 17 meg, I can provide it to anyone who PMs me their email address with a request for it. I skipped 6 pages that just have dealer and service center listings from 1975, I didn't really think those were important.

I bought a copy of the owners manual for my 1976 Argosy on disk from Vintage Literature Reproductions. I think it cost around $20.

Joey,
You should already have a copy in your inbox. Now take some pictures of your new toy and share!

Hi, we just purchased our 1976 Argosy and it does not have an owners manual. This whole restoration thing is new to us and we want to take it step by step, so we don't mess anything up. The Airstream is in pretty good condition, but there are some things that may need replacing. If anyone knows how we could get a hold of the manual or a copy of it, it would be much appreciated. The stove/ oven is working, but the refrigerator is not cooling. Everything is original and we'd like to learn how to fix instead of replace. Thank you for any help in getting these documents.
