How do I remove Argosy hub caps

We recently bought a 1977/78 24' Argosy. We understand that the plastic hub caps are precious and not to let a tire dealership remove them. Now we've looked at them and wonder how do we remove them without breaking them. Any advice?

Remove the wheel from the coach, and unscrew the three screws holding the caps to the wheels. Be careful, they are made of Unobtainium.

Ours are made of extremely brittle plastic. Several options for removing:

Walk past wheel - they might just fall off.
Look at sideways - they might just fall off.
Wash wheel with low pressure hose - they might disintegrate (thus negating the need to remove.
Park next to JordanDVM - they might just walk off. (just kidding Jim )

Seriously - what overlander63 said is right.
