Has anyone made a Rock Guard for the front windows?
I have a 77 Argosy and need a rock guard for the front windows, has anyone made one themselves? If so could you show some pictures and a brief explanation of how you did it? I would like a solid one, not fabric. Or if anyone has one for sale PM me.

Argosy's back then had 3 front windows.
The windows on each side of the front window are called "wrap windows".
To protect all 3 of those windows, requires a 3 piece rockguard.
Those are still available, but not cheap.

do a search on "rock guard" and you will find a few threads on home made foam fill canvas ones.

I made a rock guard for my Argosy. It is a 3 piece rock guard and all sections are hinged and will open. You can see it in my Avatar.

How about some pics and details on how you made them. I am also interested.

This thread has a lot of info about how to make your own, as well as the pros/cons of purchasing the 3-piece tinted rock guards versus making your own removable guards:
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f469...ors-46690.html
I've decided I prefer a removable version, similar to the ones created by Nick, Sergei and others. I'm wondering if any of the shops mentioned in that thread still have the detailed patterns that would work for a '73 Argosy like mine. I wouldn't mind paying a little more for a proven version, rather than reinventing the wheel.
Steve
Edit: Oops, I just noticed the original post called for details on a solid, not fabric, option. Didn't mean to hijack the thread.

How do you attach the curved parts that cover the side windows to the trailer when towing? I see the hinges to the sides of the center section but not any clips to the trailer to keep them from flopping in the wind.

The factory uses a pair of rubber grommets with 1/4 turn screws to keep the side covers in place. The center cover overlaps the brackets to help keep the guards from flying open, as well.
BTW, the factory rock guards will fit and work on your Argosy. Just make sure you order the ones for the 96" trailer, not the 102" trailer.

I will take more photos and post them as soon as I can. It's hard to see it in the pics but the side (corner) guards are hinged to an angle that is mounted between the center window and corner window.
I threw this guard together a couple of years ago before heading out on a long trip. If I were to do it again I would use Lexan, either smoked or clear to let more light in.
The cost of materials was around $200.00.

Has anyone ever gotten a price on just the two corner window rock guards from Airstream? Can you get them a little cheaper without the middle window guard?

All 3 pieces are available as a group or as separate pieces.
