Goodbye, Friend...

Today we say goodbye to our faithful friend of 3 years, "Argy." Our 1978 Argosy Six-Metre Minuet is going to a new home. Though we adored it and treated it well, we started to value our empty driveway a little more.

Funny thing is, we plan on buying a new truck and a different house that can both accommodate a bigger Argosy. It's just that our current setup isn't the best fit right now.

Isn't it amazing that these great trailers are so fun that we'd be willing to change everything else so we can have one in our "family"?

Enjoy your new family, Argy. We've truly enjoyed our times with you!

So...you bought a vintage trailer, did you, honey? Good deal, was it? Oh, just a couple of repairs, huh?

Drat, now our little Argy is starting to grow on me. I guess you were...were...were...right, honey.

I know just how you feel. My "Twink" went to a wonderful new home just last month. He has been adopted by a wonderful couple from South Carolina. They plan to use him to travel, which is what he should be doing, not sitting in my side yard. They are delightful people who we got to meet when we delivered the Argosy part way. We met in Littlerock, Arkansas, to show then what we could about our baby and send him on his way. I think he is now called "Junior" and was going to his very first rally this week-end. I never had time to go to a rally. Linda and Richard (the new parents) are Forum members and WBCCI members too. They are very nice folks and I know they will take great care of this Argosy. Couldn't have let it go to just anyone.

That's a lovely Minuet. Hope its new owners cherish it as much as you did, and hopefully you find the perfect bigger Argosy.

We absolutely adore ours - given that the next step up that would really be a big functional improvement for us is a newer 25' FB Safari SE, we'll have our Minuet for quite a while...

That would be tough, I cant imagine letting ours go. My wife won't even consider it! lol.......on the other hand, hopefully we'll get to welcome a new member. Look forward to seeing your new one!

I understand the changing things as well. I've started removing my shop items so I can remodel our 2 1/2 garage to house our "Christine"

Greetings All,

My wife and I are the new and proud owners of OregonArgy. We live about 60 miles to the West of Gresham in McMinnville, Oregon in the heart of Oregon Wine Country. For the past year we have been rehabilitating a 68 Shasta Compact trailer, only 12 feet. We bought the Minuet a couple of weeks ago and spent 4 hours in the old owner's driveway trying to get the wiring right. We finally got enough connections to get the brake lights and electric brakes to work, then took it south a couple of hours and went camping!!

Camping in it was terrific. It is bright and airy with the windows open, and when the storm came that night we were high and dry. We were visited by some neighbors in the campground with an old Aloha trailer, who were impressed when they saw Argy and came to check it out.

The following week we took it to our local camper guys and got all the wiring straightened out. We plan to head out again in a couple of week and are so thankful to have bought Argy from such a caring family. It is in great shape.

Hello all,

My wife and I have just purchased a 24' and 20' Argosy to go along with two other 'streams. We are looking forward to fixing them up and going camping.
