Question Do i really have the only one?

I have read all the way thru the Argosy data base and it looks like i have the only Argosy so far with the "J" as where it was made.I gather from what i have read here that the "J" indicates it was built in the Airstream plant.
The rear bumper and storage compartment and the front frame and trailer hitch were originally painted a bright gold color, not the sort of bronze that the belly pan and lower corner pieces are. VIN.# 24-T8J-2095
Anyone aware of another "j" built Argosy? A poor photo of the VIN plate can be seen on page 11 of the data base.

Well 150 people have looked and no one has mentioned another Argosy built in the Airstream factory so i guess i will claim to have the only one.Would be interesting to know why this one was done there but not likely to find out !

I was offered a 1978 Argosy 27 that was built in Jackson Center. The last time I saw it was in Corona, California, about 6 years ago.
It was a rear bath, center twins, with a corner shower in the curbside, and had been really crappily painted with cheap house paint.

The only thing I saw was a sign that said no open flames, because of the spray painting, yet absolutely next to that, open welding took place.

You could stand in one place and watch both the spray painting and the welding, at the same time.

Oh well, good intentions are always better than none.
