Attachment Method - Bottom Sheet Metal Pan

The sheet metal pan on the bottom of my 22 foot 73 Argosy needs to be re attached to the frame in several places. Am wondering what others have done to make repairs in this area. I assume that pop rivets were used?

Is it feasible to drive out the old rivets so that new could be installed, or better to drill new holes in the frame? Also, what tool did you use and where did you find the rivets? My sheet metal looks to be in pretty good shape, just need to reattached in places.

Thanks, Tom

Drill out broken rivets and install new 3/16" LARGE head rivets. Rivets can be purchased from Vintage Trailer Supply or Out of Doors Mart. I use a scratch awl to push broken rivets thru also.

You may want to drill new holes for the new rivets..
The old rivets on my trailer had pulled out because the frame had rusted around the rivets,
Leaving rather large holes.
