Argosy wheel covers
Can anyone suggest where I might find the center hub wheel covers for my 77 Argosy, they are plastic and have argosy printed on them. If they are not available maybe there is a substitute. Any suggestions appreciated.
thanks.

I haven't had the chance to try yet, but have been told that the 1978 and earlier center caps for the Chevrolet K5 Blazer/GMC K5 Jimmy with styled steel wheels should work with our Argosy wheels -- the caps are quite similar in shape, and are available in the aftermarket without the GM badging (plain centers). I am on the fence between using this option or going with spinner centers available from JC Whitney.

I have been looking for that center for one of mine that was damaged. I have yet to find one; however, if you find the chevy wheel covers, please let me know. I am only missing one. If you have any and want to replace them, remember me...I'm willing to pay!

Has someone found where I could get an Argosy hub cap?
If any of you has one... I have one damage and the other one is OK... I would like to buy it.
I live in Canada... but Canada is closer to USA than you may think...

Argosy hubcab
Hi. I have not yet received them, but Vintage Trailer Supply carries the center hub for the Argosy wheels (at least, they appear to be compatible with mine but mine may be aftermarket wheels.) I just ordered some. Will let you know if they work. They have the measurements for the center hubs listed on the site . You might check it out!

Oops!
I just realized you were referring to different Argosy center hubs . The kind I just got are just chrome and plain. Sorry for the misunderstanding!

All info is good info. Someone in the future may be browsing this thread looking for the chrome ones.

Argosy center hub
If anyone is interested, here is a link to the center hub I just ordered for my Argosy. It sounds like it may be similar to the Chevy ones that someone mentioned earlier in the posts. Hope this helps! I'll let you know how they work out once I get them.

aftermarket or standard?
Thanks for the extra info. I must have aftermarket wheels on my 72 Argosy 20 as it has the clips to hold the center hub in. Even the spare has clips. Anyone know if some Argosy's came standard with the "clip-style" wheels?

I haven't been able to positively confirm this, but I believe that the styled steel wheels with the Argosy center caps didn't become available until sometime between 1975 and 1977. It appears that they were standard issue beginning in 1978. Particularly early in production (1972-1974), the plain steel wheels with hubcaps were standard with full aluminum wheel covers optional (these were the same wheel covers as those utilized by Airstream, but didn't have the painted center trim).

And I have seen the stamped steel, chrome plated hubcaps that were installed on Airstreams, also on Argosies, but instead of the little emblem inthe center being painted blue, they were painted beige.
Our 1972 Argosy 20 had the clip-style baby moon hubcaps, but I found one of the full hubcaps, with the beige painted center, in a storage compartment.

My 73 Argosy has the clip type chrome (Moon) hub caps. My 76 Argosy (Parts Trailer) has the full steel hubcaps like the Airstream style. The center on mine are unpainted. The 76 wheels do not have the clips. There have been sevdral sets of the full style hubcaps on ebay in recent months.

I have the larger kind, 3 w/ beige center and one w/ blue. I would like to find another beige one or another blue one.

Here is what someone else has found... at QuickTrim ABS Trailer Hub Covers: Low Cost Trailer Supplies
QuickTrim ABS trailer Hub Covers.
I will order QT655B (6 on 5.5 (black) @ 9.18 each) for my 1977 Argosy Minuet.

Why does the QT655B in black show only 5 lugs? I need 6 just as in your picture, but the picture on this site shows only the 5 lug pattern on all the blacks.

Black Krylon Fusion paint is $4.99 a can, worst case scenario...

They probably had 1 pic for the black color and 1 for the chrome (my guess).
Look at the 8 on 6.5 ( A-QT765B). It also shows the 5 lug model... So...

I have recreated them in a cast mold. Are you still interested?
