Argosy Minuet 6.0 Reno

WE PURCHASED A MINUET 6.0 LAST SUMMER AND IT WAS IN PRETTY ROUGH CONDITION. I HAVE A MACHINE SHOP AT MY DISPOSAL SO THE RENOVATION HAS BEEN COMING ALONG GREAT SO FAR! NEW PAINT, RUBBER,CUSHIONS,UPHOLSTRY,DRAPES,AIR & SO ON. CURRENTLY I'M LOOKING FOR AN AWNING AND STONE SHIELDS FOR THE FRONT WINDOWS. A C.N.C. MACHINIST & TOOLMAKER BY TRADE,I'M NOT AFRAID TO TACKLE ANY PROJECT MY SELF INCLUDING FABRICATING MY OWN. ANY HELP ON SUPPLY RESOURCES, PICTURES, DRAWINGS,ALUMINUM EXTRUSION PROFILES USED WOULD BE A GREAT START! I'M A NEW MEMBER OF THE FORUM AND LOOKING FORWARD TO SHARING OUR KNOWLEDGE!

Greetings John L!

The front window rock guard for a Minuet can be a bit of a problem. It is one that several of the Minuet owners on the list are struggling with. Since the Minuet is 8" narrower than the standard Argosys and Airstreams, the typical Airstream rock guard is too wide. The only Minuet owner on the list with a rock guard at present reported that the center section had to be narrowed to fit; and Airstream has confirmed that this is the only way to obtain a rock guard for a Minuet.

I have recently acquired the three piece awning to be modified for my Minuet. The wing window sections are identical to the similar model Airstreams and Argosys, and I acquired a slightly imperfect center section to be narrowed the approximate 8" that will be required to fit the Minuet. I don't know if any of the rock guards other than the three-piece would work on the Minuet.

I tried to find a rock guard through Colaw's RV Salvage, but was not able to get one through them. Eneded up purchasing the parts separately through an E-Bay auction and my Airstream dealer.

Good luck with your restoration.

Kevin
