Argosy interiors, 24' +

Can anyone point me to information about floor plans for Argosy's 24' or longer?

Even rough descriptions would help!

Thanks

Argosy interiors, 24' +

Greetings DarkStar!

The factory literature that I have for Argosy trailers dating to 1975, 1976, 1977, and 1979; provides the following information.

In general, most of the less-than 24' coaches had a "standard" front dinette arrangement with an optional "twin-lounge" arrangement in the front from the greater-than 24' coaches. The greater-than 24' coaches were reported to have "standard" "twin-lounge" arrangements with the option of the "front-dinette" from the less-than 24' trailers.

The kitchen is typically to left of the entry door in all but the rear door, 24' floor plan that was one of the factory selections prior to the introduction of the 24' Minuet sometime in 1977.

The center bedroom was a basic feature of most trailers 24' and greater. Two basic designs were offered - - center twin or center double. The center twin provides a slightly smaller than standard twin bed on either side of the center aisle with storage above and below the bed. The center double provides as "sofa" that drops down to make a slightly smaller than standard double bed - - it will be located along one wall while you will find a vanity table and wardrobes on the opposite wall.

The bath on most of the Argosys was in the rear parallelling similar Airstreams.

The Argsoy was offered in a 28' and a 30' with the option of a center bath with rear bedroom. Basically, the floor plan simply switched the bath and bedroom - - the bath tended to be a bit less roomy as a result of the necessary redesign upon its move to mid-coach.

Through 1977, there was a relatively unusual stock floorplan offered in the 24' Argosy. This particular trailer had a rear door (behind the rearmost axle). In this trailer, you would find a streetside corner bath, mid-coach kitchen and dinette, and a front bedroom. The illustrations in the catalog show a twin-bed arrangement and make no mention of an alternative for double or queen size bedding so don't know whether this might have been an option.

From 1977 through 1979, you might also run across a 24' Minuet. It would be a rear bath model with the same general floorplans as the other Argosy 24' trailers. The difference would be that it is 8" narrower than the standard Argosy line and also has a number of features to reduce weight.

Good luck with your search!

Kevin
