Anyone want to buy my Argosy quick?
Just thinking......There's a dealer selling a bunch of those Brand New FEMA Trailers on EBAY. Talked to the dealer a few times...anyway blah, blah, blah.
If I could sell my Argosy real quick I would buy one of the FEMA Trailers. Need $4500.00 to come out more or less even. Interior is set up like a 24' Center Twin (not original interior). Has all electric appliances, electric cooktop, electric water heater, electric dorm fridge, roof AC only works on fan but I have 9500 BTU portable AC that uses a dryer vent, I'll include. Has Futon in front. New 45 amp, Wizard Converter. Have LP tanks and gas lines are still in place if you want to switch back to gas. New custom made curtains.
Picture before cleaning up....

I would be very carefull with a Fema Unit.
Many have no holding tanks just electric fridges. The cheapest possible construction with inferior materials.
As well many have been sitting un-maintained in fields of mud and critters. Even brand new ones are really poor. You certainly don't want to travel with them and I would not stay in a parked one. $4,500 is all they are worth, they are not a deal.
Your Argosy will be going strong 20 years after the fema one has disolved.

Many (most?) of the FEMA trailers had problems with being made with toxic materials, which could make you very sick just by staying in them. They are the cheapest of the cheap, and at 5 years of age, they are at the end of their useful life anyway.

Hmmmm.... why would you want to get rid of a wonderful trailer for a very, very used some other brand model? Your Argosy will last for ever, the FEMA a few years at best. I would reconsider the idea, but thats just my thought.

DON'T but a FEMA trailer- there is a field near our home with literally thousands of them and they are just sitting there leaking and getting filled with rats, mice, and snakes.

Not that I would promote buying one, but all FEMA trailers aren't the same. One of the lots near here is 1/2 full of the white box trailers, no decals, 110V appliances, no holding tanks...BUT the remainder of the trailers are full fledged bumper pulls, some are even slideout versions. One of the first batch of trailers that FEMA aquired for the temp housing effort came straight from area RV dealers.

I'd trust a used car salesman or any other kind of salesman before I'd trust the government!
