Acrylic window care

Our Minuet has the original acrylic windows on the sides. They are grimey, or fogged and windex and other obvious cleaners haven't done the trick.
Is there some way to restore them to a clearer state or should I just resign myself to "almost clean" windows.

Cleaners

There are available plexiglass and acrylic polishing kits. I have used them on the window on my Corvette. They do an excellent job removing the very fine scratches and restore a lot of clarity to the window.

Also, years back there was a product called Glass Wax that did a fantastic job on acrylics and plexiglass.

Hope this helps.

Janet,

since I don't know the windex brand I would like to remark that acrylic is _very_ sensitive to alcohol - NEVER allow alcohol to come in contact with acrylic. The softening agents (correct expression ?) are alcohol-soluble, hence the window will become brittle and probaby break at the first occasion (pothole etc.). Don't ask why I know :-{

Polishing is often quite successfull. Various specific polishes / cleanersshould be available; at least they are over here.

Janet - glad you posted this. Our Minuet windows (side) are also scratched and foggy and I wondered about products to use. This will be added to my purchase list to keep w/trailer. Thanks
