73 Argosy Fresh Water Tank

Hi there,
Has anyone had luck finding a replacement tank for freshwater? My 1973 26 Argosy has had the tank and pump removed as well as furnace, converter, battery box, and control panel. I'm wanting to get it set back up ASAP so I have full usage of my trailer.

Here is the downfall of buying a "gutted , or partially gutted" ready for your dream renovation trailer.

The chances of someone having your tank that wants to sell it is pretty minimal to none. I would look at trying to get images of the OEM tank and getting a plastic place to build one for you or find one with dimensions you can use in the spot you want to use it in.

Next time, buy a trailer with everything there, because replacing the stuff you haven't got is not going to be cheap, if you want it stock; especially that panel; BUT lucky for you there are new products out there that will do the same thing and better, ie smaller multi displays that will monitor many different aspects of your trailer on one display, opening up more storage for you and getting rid of the big panel.

Getting a new converter is easy, pump is easy, battery box is easy, furnace, you have many different ways to go that are better than a furnace; Platinum Cats for one, in floor radiant heat grids, Precision Temp radiator fan heating.

They quoted me $299 for their model 169 which is what you'll be looking for if you want to place it in the original front position.



The rest of the stuff you're missing are things you would want to replace anyway. I did buy a (two) complete Argosy's and have come to the conclusion that unless everything is in really good shape you're not missing out on much (besides cleaning rat poop) by going with a gutted unit. There's really nothing special about a 45 year old bathroom.


Good luck with your project, fix the floor and axles first then make it what you dream of.

Hi, don’t know if I am too late to help, I saw an Argosy original fresh water tank for sale in craiglist, Portland or Ashland Oregon.
I used to own an Argosy, that’s why I recognized it.

Thanks John! The only reason why I am looking for those few pieces is because the gentleman I bought it from has kept it in pristine condition since he bought it. It spent most of it's time in a barn. I found a unicorn!
