22' Rear Door Argosy
I let ASwifey talk me into buying this 22' Rear Door Argosy tonight... I guess WE got a little work (a lot of work) to do. Let's just say it was cheap (so far), she's a bargain shopper.

Oh I talked you into it? Really?
Just think of all the fun (fights), and laughs (tears) we'll have doing the restoring.
Love you honey!

Hey - good buy! Rear door Argys are hard to come by and the 22 is especially neat. I know you'll get a lot of enjoyment out your new rig.

It's doing a fine job keeping the rain off off the pad on which it sits
The resto is on hold for the summer however as we are gutting the kitchen on our house. Currently, the minuet kitchen in in full use while ours is out of order.

Make a list - do the cosmetic stuff last. The systems are more important than the curtains.

Uhhh...I don't think you could convince the people at the first RV park we stayed at that was the case. --Important safety tip: you should check to make sure the old curtains cannot be seen through from outside before undressing-- Ask me how I know...

Nice "find" I have always thought the rear door plan was one of the nicer ones. I have seen two of those for sale over the years, but they were a bit too proud of them.

Well, after checking with the CA DMV on registering this thing, I didn't go through with buying it. I'm not interested in paying 7 years of CA tag fee's and penalties on it. I'm not sure if the current owner will list it on ebay or craigslist next. If someone else is interested in it, I can put you in touch with him.

The tags for May '09 to '10 is $31. To pay back tag fees and penalties for 7 years is another $380.

You have a rare, really great trailer. We looked at a couple rear door 22' Argosy's before getting our 23'. They have a nice open concept layout.
I believe there is room to build a huge bed with that design. We are envious.
You have a real find!

I'm thinking that one would only have to pay those fees if one were to register in Cali. Correct?

Yea, I understand CA has had the outrageous license fees for some time now. We here in Colorado have just been walloped this last week. Our fees are increasing by $50 something this year, more next. On top of that, if you are late paying it is an additional $100. One guy went in to pay for his boat trailer after he was working on boat this last year-didn't pay the license fee while work was in progress, boom $100!!
