I am currently working on a Minuet and have a question for other owners that have worked on their trailers. This is the first Argosy I have worked on and they can't be that different right? Well actually they are. The whole aluminum floor is very wild. Why they did not pursue that as an improvement over plywood, I do not know...
My question is have any of you looked closely at your frame? I was very shocked to find this yesterday....
Those are two broken cross members. They broke off right at the welds along the frame rails. The part that astounds me is that the entire cross member is attached by only 1 5/8" on each side.
That is very little meat if you ask me. That on top of the four foot on center spacing seems like too little structure for my liking. I understand the ambition was to produce a very light weight trailer, but this feels like the experiment fell short.
Has anyone experienced any problems with their frame in this area?
