1973 Argosy 24' Double

I am at a crossroads with Ellie. I originally started to strip original paint and prep for a new paint job, but now that I have stripped from the roof downto the beltline I am rethinking it.

Has anyone documented polishing an Argosy start to finish? What color did you shoot the gavanized caps?

I have a price of $2K to shoot back to the original colors with me doing all of the prep work. Not sure if this is what I want after seeing the skin. I could get all of the supplies for around $600 and the work doesn't scare me.

Looking for information from someone who has been there, done that!

No opinions so far so I have decided to polish. My inspiration:

There is so much potential that i have to give it a try. I know that purists would have it painted its original colors, but that doesn't seem to do it for me!

Hello.... Hubby did all the prep work on Costalotta ... he did autobody repair... had someone paint it for us... his labour and cost of paint for the 30' Argosy was 3000 Canadian... love the finish..

Your labor is cheap. Paint stripper is cheap.
Quality paint in the hands of a skilled painter
is where the money should be "invested"!

It will be easier in the long term to maintain the painted finish than to keep the shiny finish of an AS. JMTCW

Don't be afraid you have an argosy its painted. We finished ours this spring, rather had a slow body shop do the work and turned out great. It's an argosy pull it proudly.
