Airstream Inc. has redesigned its website,
Airstream, Inc :: Home, along with a corresponding print and online campaign that revives the “Airstream Story” brochure format used by the company in the 1960’s.
The new site and literature, developed by Nevada City, Calif.-based Velocity7 Communications, showcases Airstream’s 2008 product line. “Airstream Story” is a 30-plus-page brochure that details the evolution of America’s iconic travel trailer and doubles as a coffee table booklet.
“It was really fun to return to the roots of Airstream’s product literature with the ‘Airstream Story,’ " said Robert Trent, Velocity7 CEO. “There is a deep, rich history – and new Airstreamers want to better understand the culture they are becoming part of.”
Highlighting the 2008 line is a trailer created by San Francisco-based Design Within Reach, a retailer of furnishings and accessories, in collaboration with designer Chris Deam. The Design Within Reach Airstream is featured on the new website.
“Airstream continues to evolve with the modern design esthetic through partners like DWR,” said Ben Owen, director of sales and marketing for Jackson Center, Ohio-based Airstream, a subsidiary of Thor Industries Inc.
