I find it curious that the photo is reversed. Wonder what that is all about.

I think Lee needs to get a drop hitch. That trailer tongue seems a bit high for that hitch.

Yea, and I also see no equilizer bars....he could have a very dangerous situation with insufficent load on the front axle, and loose control!

And that doesn't even begin to address sway control!

I sure hope his running gear are balanced. Towing with a bicycle with unbalanced running gear could lead to disastrous results.

At the 1999 Ralley in dayton (Wright Pat airforce bace/ wright state univ)

I was with a group of guys that had a bicycle fitted with a hitch. 1 gentlemen Hooked his trailer to the bike, I think it was a flying cloud?
he towed it down the run way. I recorded the footage from that. It was the same unit he had there to camp in.

If I didnt witness it I may not have beleived it. I became good friends with them, they where the most intresting group of guys, some of them where from the same unit I belong to, and some from the tin can tourists I think.

The hardest part was getting the whole rig rolling. Once it was going, it went fine.

Maintaining tire pressure on TV is very important. I'd recommend the PressurePro for this set-up.

I can't tell from the picture, are they Bendix or hand brakes? Neither would function as a controller for the trailer brakes. A real risk by today's standards.

Talking E bike

Thats an electric bike and it's my guess the trailer brakes are wired into the controller - most likely it's a regenerative system that charges the battery when the brakes are applied. If so, then when you apply the brakes, the system voltage increases causing the unit to increase speed - sorta like perpetual motion

They reversed, I'm guessing, in order to not duplicate the Airstream trade mark. Just a guess.

Ironic that he was thinking bikes instead of cars.
